ok I just got an e-mail from the poster place asking me to send them a digital picture of the poster that I received. Im sure if it is an original they know they sent me they are going to ask me to send it back. But if it's a re-print they will probably just send out the new one. What should I do?

The link to the dealer that you bought from explains that their original is folded with pin holes in it. The image you posted of the one they sent to you appears to be a clean rolled one, which right there tells me that they simply sent you a reprint of "a" original, not "their" original. If they had sent you a copy of the original they state they have, yours would have fold lines in the image (even though it was rolled) and the pin hole images on each corner would appear as well. However, since the poster you got doesn't even appear to have any type of "lines" in it which would appear even in a reprint, my guess is either they, or their supplier, simply took a high resolution image from the internet that showed the image of a non-folded design, and then printed up a reprint. I am not saying MoviePoster.com would have done this, but perhaps they purchased them from a dealer that does. While MoviePoster.com has been around for awhile, and for the most part has a good reputation, they do offer reprints AND originals. MovieGoods.com is putting out most of the reprints out there and have been known to even put out double-sided reprints that they themselves are producing (this I have talked about in great length in the movie poster thread here on the forums). I can't or won't support a fellow dealer that manipulates the poster market they way they do. For example, taking "fan-created" images off the internet and offering it as "style "N" or style "K" is absurd. Yes, they actually do that for some posters (Dark Knight to name just one such film). I have never had a reason to doubt MoviePoster.com, until I saw a double-sided fake for the latest Twilight: The New Moon being offered on their site. When I talked about it on the Movie Poster Forum, I suddenly saw it gone from their site within a few days. Basically, as a collector myself, and a movie poster dealer, I ONLY carry authentic originals, and never any types of reprints/reproductions or bootlegs. Some from this forum have ordered from me know my passion for informing collectors, both new and old, the importance of knowing the differences and buying authentic over fake. I support those who only want a reprint to tack up to their walls, but so many dealers try to fool collectors into buying a fake, thinking it is an original, and that is quite frustrating. Basically there are a lot of Dark Knight fans for example who think they have originals when they have nothing more than reproductions. In the case of this Halloween poster, I am surprised they got your order wrong. You ordered a 2007 movie poster and received a 1978 movie poster. Big difference. Someone mis-picked it, but what I find quite interesting and makes me raise an eyebrow if you will, is that they make no mention of having a "reprint" available of the original Halloween on their site, only the original folded version, as you mentioned in one of your posts. If they were offering a reprint on their site and sent that to you by mistake, then it was simply a mis-pick by an employee, but they make no mention of it. You can contact them if you don't want the poster and explain what happened, or if you are happy with a reprint of the original, then you can keep it. But it appears to me you got a reprint, nothing more, nothing less, of the original film's movie poster. If anyone here is into collecting original movie posters (basically 1990 to upcoming releases) feel free to send me a private message here or click on the email address in my signature. Well just my luck guys, it's a re-print. The company told me to keep it and that they are sending the one I originally ordered right away. It was pretty exciting though going through this, lol. I guess on the bright side I got a free poster of my favorite franchise, one that I would probably never have purchased otherwise. Thanks for all your support.

Yeah sorry about that bro. I watched this thread for a little bit and I was really pulling for you, but my instincts told me it was a reprint. Back in the day they used to ALWAYS fold posters and very rarely rolled them.
