I picked this title up this morning at my local best buy store. However, as a Best Buy employee I wanted to warn you all that the title has been placed in Deleted status. This is unusual for a new release title. One of the guys in the backroom said something about a recall of the title. I have watched the whole thing all the way through, and the disc is phenomenal, so I don't know what the problem is. Amazon shows it with no release date. Our Best Buy had 8 in stock, so my suggestion is that if you want this disc, purchase it immediately at a Best Buy or wherever else you can find it.

The sound is DTS-MA 5.1, and is WAAAAYYYY better than the previous DVD. Also the PQ is actually quite an improvement from the first Home Alone film on Blu, since this film is less soft-focus than the first film. The sound was discretely mixed back in 1992, but this is the first time it has ever presented in that full 5.1 mix since it left the mixing board. The PQ has a varying layer of grain, so it hasn't been DNR'd to death, and the print seems very clean and sharp. I can tell a VERY MINOR amount of Edge enhancement has been used, but this transfer looks much better than I hoped for. Especially when compared to the 1.85:1 non-anamorphic DVD that was just a rehash of the laserdisc from 1992, with 2.0 Stereo surround. Also the frame contains a lot more information on all four sides of the frame, and the opening credits seem to be slightly windowboxed. So much better! Great job FOX!!!!!!

I just checked BB.com and it showed Unavailable at every store in my area. I wonder if they have already pulled it...

I also went to BB.com but it shows available at all the 5 locations around my area. Weird.

It's in stock at 3/6 stores in my area.

Catalog titles that aren't advertised in the ad are always a crapshoot.

Just checked DVD Empire.com and Axel Music.com, if there is an issue these two sites are not aware of it.

Axel Music even has both the US and Canadian releases up for sale.

I just watched a few scenes of Home Alone 2, and I would rate the PQ so far around 3.5/5. There is quite a bit of grain, so grain haters beware, however the picture still looks great and is loads clearer than Home Alone 1 and Home Alone 2 DVD.

Just got back from Best Buy and they had about 5 copies. The price was $24.99 though. So it is available at stores but it will be cheaper if you bought it online (from Amazon).

I want to get this but I will wait until it gets cheaper. $24.99 and $22.99 is too expensive for this catalog title.

Does anybody know if anywhere you can get this cheaper than $22.99

Nope. It's a Fox catalog title. You'll have to wait a while for a price drop.

I agree. It's not Criterion Collection quality, but it is a pretty good transfer for a catalog title.

By the way, have we found out why Amazon still has the pre-order up?

Mine shipped on 10/2 and I got it yesterday.

so maybe it has an issue with litagations? however u spell it. ? like mrs doubtfire that was supposed to come out one year, then a few copies got sold, then they removed it from the shelf for a year or more then it finally was widely available for sale. wonder what the deal is? if they werent ready then why did they get it out? i cant wait to buy it but will wait until it is widely available so i get an updated copy of it.

Picked mine up last night at Best Buy. Watched the whole thing when I got home. It's a nice step up from the DVD. The only special features are a couple of trailers. (Home Alone, HA 2, and HA 3 if I remember correctly) I sold my DVD copy last year, so I'm glad to have it back on Blu-ray.
