What is your lighting situation? Are you using the room for any other purpose other than Movies/TV. Have you thought about front projection?

Not sure who you are asking, but I have panny 46pz800. Room is always dim, but it's an upstairs living room with a huge bay window which is always covered by thick dark curtains. the room is always dim to dark, but not flawlessly. Room is for movies and gaming and music listening, and some tv.

There is no way I will ever be able to even come close to getting the optimal distance as stated on that site for my 46 inch. Or even for a 50 inch. And can't make any more purchases for a while. I'm not allowed!
