Thanks for the compliment John

There are a couple of dealers in the GTA that carry them. Audio Empire is one. It's a bit of a campy old school type of audio shop, but they have a wide array of the Elacs there, and they know Audio.

Playing with the idea of reviving an old practice, the good old HT meet. Wondering if there is enough interest out here for it?

I see your a 2 channel guy and still spin vinyl. Glad to see there are people still in that space. It seems with all the new tech coming out, focus has shifted away from it.

I love 2 channel, and built a dedicated system just for it.

As amusing as it would be to have the Rubik sub I'll stick with my trusty SVS PC Ultra 13 Sub. It literally shakes the concrete floor in the basement theater.

Hey, how do you get the pics to render in your posts? All I can do is attach the jpegs.

Hi Dennis,

WOW! That is an amazing analog rig! Another compliment very much due!

It is obvious from looking at my system that I don't play in the same league, but my passion for vinyl is legendary! There are several guys around here that are very heavy into analog and 2-channel, and they have some amazing gear as well. I'm sure you'll be meeting up with them shortly.

What do you mean regarding a HT meet? I could be interested in such a thing.

John

Chase down those ribbons. You won't regret it.

John, your doing alright with your setup. Those Totems you have are very nice sounding and throw great detailed image. Plus your spinning vinyl, which puts you in front of the guys playing CDs or MP3.
My system is just a bit more refined.
But from what I'm seeing you have a good sounding setup.

HT meets, occasionally locals get together in one members theater and spin some software. Everyone gets to enjoy and experience the setups, and exchange ideas. I have some industry contacts, so maybe I might be able to get some gear to showcase for the day, if there is enough interest.

Used to go to a few of these before everyone switched to the forums. Art at AVS still has an annual meets down in Michigan. Those are a lot of fun.
Want to see if we can build a community of enthusiasts that meet once and a while.

Well Dennis, I'd certainly be up for something like that. So count me in, if you're able to get something going. I do know this....there are quite a few GTA members here and more joining all the time.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding my current setup. I do very much enjoy it and it gives me great pleasure.

John

All of the speakers in my HT and two channel setup use ribbon speakers all the way around. They sound fantastic for both stereo and surround sound use.

I say go for it!

Yeah will be going for the ribbons although i was really planning to get a seperate 2 channel rig. With regards to the ht though the partner/Boss likes the look of the klipsches so i guess will get mine first before she gets hers lol. I do envy you guys if ever some get togethers and home auditioning of gears do happen as i am on the other side of the globe. Planning to spin vinyls by middle of next year.

Hey, how do you get the pics to render in your posts? All I can do is attach the jpegs.
After you add the pictures, go to the Paper Clip Icon on the top menu. You will see the pictures that you attached there. Click on them and place them anywhere in your post.

Alternatively, if you know the web address of the picture, you can insert it in your post by putting the image tags around it. For example.

[IMG ]http ........... .jpg[/IMG ]

I intentionally put spaces after IMG and /IMG so that the editor does not interpret the statement as an actual picture.

Thanks Big Daddy.

I've updated the posts to show the images now.

Going to try and get some pics done of the HT this week, and throw them up.

Go for it Lestat. You'll love the rich sound of vinyl.

It will be frustrating at first, as a TT setup definitely takes a lot more effort to get right. But the results will be worth it.
