It's at a great price right now of $149.99 on NewEgg. They have free shipping (shipping is actually quite fast with NewEgg) and no tax also!

Both of these center speakers are sort of large, so I am not sure of where you plan to put this speaker, but keep in mind how big they are if you plan to use some kind of TV or AV stand.
I have the 60's, CS2 and 40's and love them all. I agree the CS2 is pretty large, I wasn't expecting it so I am in the process of mounting a shelve on my wall to place the CS2

If youre not already set on the Polks, you can also check out the Energy Speakers. The C-300s are a match to the Monitor 60s, except that Energys have a fuller and more detailed midrange with very accurate Highs. Low end frequency is basically the same. Polks push the highs, and can be a little exaggerated, they are good speakers, but they lack in the midrange.

If you are going to listen to music with them too, the Energys are very musical speakers, and can reproduce music with very good accuracy. The Polks are good for rock or rap, but get to jazzier music or piano reproduction and there is a fall off when directly compared to the Energys.

You can like wise get the C-300s for $260/pr and the Center is only $69, these speakers have been discontinued for a newer version, so that is why they are so inexpensive. There is shipping charges unfortunately, but if you call Audio Advisor, they will reduce the shipping charges, and for the same amount of money or less, you could have these speakers, which in my opinion are better speakers.

Have you already made the decision to go with Polk? I was going to throw out another suggestion, if you're still open to it. Great speakers, free shipping with FedEx, and a fantastic warranty with fantastic customer service.

Elemental Designs A6-6T6 Towers.

Their are single drivers that play the full range of 20hz-20khz, the number of drivers are not the determining factor. It comes down to how those drivers can reproduce sound.

Look at the Totem speakers. You think that a they are inferior to the Polk Monitor 60 too? They all have one driver, and they are very high-end speakers.

Do you think that a Pair of PSB B15 bookshelves cannot outperform your Monitor 60s?

You can ask Forsberg about the single driver on the Energys, I think he has heard them and will tell you that yes the single driver performs as well as the 3 drivers on his T90e's.

I have heard the Monitor 60 and TSI400s on many occasions.

i think your were confused in what i asked, of course the more expensive-high end single driver speakers going sound better then my monitor 60s. i said if they are in the same price range, under 150. will the single driver perform better then the monitor 60 with 3 drivers.

Did you read post 3 and 6 on the thread above?

Yes, a single driver can.

Where do you live? (you can PM that if you want.) If you live in or around socal, I would invite you over to listen and bring your speakers.

thanks yea just wanted to know what was the difference between them because i know for sure the polk's monitor series as you go higher, more driver they sound better. i remember i went to electronic expo and i bought the polks monitor 20 had only a single driver, i returned them and got the polk monitor 60, and they are night and day.

Right, and the C-500s have 2 drivers and the C-300s has 1 driver and there is better seperation from of the mids and low frequencies from one to the other. Across manufactures you cannot make the same comparisons tho.

Having spent lots of time at my 4 local BBs and with my speakers I have had the chance to listen to them and make comparisons. Polk makes good speakers, but all speakers are not made the same, and therefore the each speaker can do more or less with the number and size of drivers that they have.

Im leaning towards the Polk Monitor 60's but i dont know if i want to get them from newegg considering they are a bulk item and i have to be home to make sure that nothing is F'ed up, on the other hand i can purchase them from amazon for about $60 total more and they are brand new and a better return policy. What do you guys Think????

well in regards to convincing you to buy one speaker or another, that is hard to do. I can tell you that I have spent lots of time with Polks & Energys and as well, auditioned several other higher end speakers. In regards to the Monitors or C-Series, Energy makes a better speaker. If you really want the best of both music and movies, the Energys are the best current speaker at their price point. As I said before the Polks are nice speakers, but they don't have the detail and depth of the Energys in the midrange, they also tend to be a little over exaggerated on the highs. The aluminum tweeters on the Energys make for very accurate highs, coupled with a better sounding and more detailed mid-range, they will provide you a very good overall experience with music and movies. Low end frequencies will be very similar on both, neither are going to blow you away to the likes of B&Ws or Monitor Audios, but they will both cover the lower end midrange fairly well. And like I said, if your playing alternative rock or rap music, either speaker will handle those types of music just fine. Get into something more intricate with acoustic guitar, Piano, female vocals, or symphonies, they Energys will outshine the Polks. Not that the Polks cannot play the sounds, but the Energys will produce a clearer, more detailed and live-like replication of it. Because they are so good with music, they also bring that to the movie/HT side as well.

One thing that I can say about both speakers is that they are easy on the ear, they are both speakers that can be listened to all day long, unlike say Klipsch speakers that after hours and hours they get fatiguing.

I do like polks speakers, and I think you could be happy with them. However I think that if you have a choice in terms of which to buy and you can get the Energys, that they are a better speaker and I would tell you to get Energy.

www.audioadvisor.com sells them over the internet, their policy is a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. And if they show up damaged for some reason, they will have UPS pick up the speaker(s) and ship them back and send you a new one(s).

Also, How come it is that many of the people on this site buy Polks and then upgrade them so quickly? I know that there are more Polk owners on here then Energy owners, but the fact that they are not satisfied or are looking for the next best thing, always has me wondering.... why didn't they buy the speakers they really wanted in the first place?

Good Luck.
