Correct me if I'm wrong, but BB seems the way to go on this, no?
This sounds like the way to go, since BB seems to be sensitive about people double-dipping (price-matching AND taking advantage of their "bonus offer"), though I recall some people getting their BB to PM Snow White AND take advantage of the $15 gift card they offered last month, so YMMV

PS:
Anyone who took advantage of that deal with Pinocchio at $9.99 last month, the $15 gift card is essentially divided into $7.50 per DVD on the receipt, so go ahead and return your snow white and you essentially get Pinocchio + a $7.50 BB Gift card for only $9.99!

I didn't even know they were doing an exclusive deal, so this was a nice surprise and it seems worth the trip to Target to me.
It's not really considered an "exclusive edition/version"... you are just getting a promotional item. Just like BB has the promotional steelbook, it looks like Target has a promotional journal. All Up 4-disc sets are the same, they're not "exclusive editions".

OP didn't mention Amazon's other deal with Up, where buying it along with another Disney title saves another 10 dollars off. Not explicitly related to Up/Monsters Inc., but it is about Up, and people buying Up from Amazon would likely want to take advantage of the deal. Things like Snow White or Cars or Sleeping Beauty or Pinocchio are compatible with this deal and priced at ~20 bucks, meaning effectively being able to get them for ~10. Other titles are a little less impressive, but even getting Bolt (or any number of other similarly priced new releases) for the equivalent of 14 bucks isn't bad.

The link was posted in a news item on this site. Here it is: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...48181&plpage=1

Plus you get the Steel Book. Tempted to cancel my Amazon order now, but will wait until a day before release day to see if there really is a $10 Up coupon.

so,

UP : $19.99
monsters inc : $22.86
up coupon : -$10
monsters coupon:-$8
TOTAL : $24.85 ??
Assuming there's a $10 coupon for Up, Target will still be cheaper.

The whole point of this thread was for the purchase of Up and Monster's Inc. together, and not to get it mixed up with all the other deals surrounding it. We appreciate your post, but that's why the OP made this new one, so we can focus on the best deal for just Up and Monster's Inc. as a pair.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who canceled their pre-order on Amazon to take advantage of the deal. Yeah, I already had all the ones on the list I wanted, but I was able to grab something cheap that would make a GREAT Christmas gift.

Seems a bit misleading to not even MENTION it in something claiming to be "definitive". Even if that's not the POINT of the thread, people buying Up and Monsters Inc. together are still likely to want to take advantage of the deal. At least link to the news post or something.

There is already a thread for that deal, and that thread is full of confusion as it's a somewhat confusing deal to many people. I'd rather not invite that confusion in here too. I appreciate your concern, but if you want to discuss that separate deal, you already have a thread to do so in.

Yes, I do get your point. The reason we are not mentioning that deal or any others is because we are talking about ONE deal only. We are trying to find where to buy ONLY Up and Monster's Inc. for the best price.

There have been many threads before this one posting links to the deal you're mentioning, and quite frankly everyone is going crazy about what coupon you can use with this, and whichever coupon with that. So this thread clears the prices up with the fact that we just want to know the best Up and Monster's Inc deal... not along with any other title. I'm sure whoever wants to take advantage of the deal you are mentioning knows exactly where to go.

As I said before, you're post is greatly appreciated for the mention of the deal, but there are many other threads concerning that deal, but unfortunately this is not one of them.

Wow, good find. I will edit the op accordingly.

edit: Unfortunately, all this does is raise the price of deal #3 by 3 cents, since you could already pricematch Wal-Mart's price of $19.96. However, this might make it easier for some people to get the deal now, as you'd be pricematching Best Buy itself, not a separate company.

This is true... wonder how this effects the BB Up/Monster's Inc. deal though.
That would make their price on-line different from the ad we already seen, so I wonder how this would all work with the Up/Monster's Inc. deal they're running on Tuesday.

Sorry, let me rephrase for whatever reason, Target's version features an exclusive bonus journal that you can only get at Target. Because of that, they may not price match with other places. So yes, if it is packaged with the movie, it'd be considered an "exclusive edition/version" IMO. It's no different than Monsters Vs. Aliens. Target had the exclusive Blu-ray/DVD combo edition. Even though the Blu-rays had the same features, it's still an exclusive edition.

Sweet. Can you pre-order Up at BB for the new price of $19.99 and then buy Monster's Inc at $18.99 when you pick up UP?

Then BB would really be the best price asf:

Up $19.99
Monster's Inc $18.99
-less $8 Monster's Inc coupon
-less $10 Up (potential) coupon
= $20.98 + tax

No, that's my fault... I didn't look at the small print to read that it was actually packaged with the movie. So yeah, I don't know if they'd PM or not.

That makes sense...

What doesn't then is using the word "definitive". Saying that is tantamount to saying "if you're buying Up and Monsters Inc., you don't need to look ANYWHERE but here, as this is the most reliable or complete set of information regarding purchasing these titles" This is not right, not for many of us. I think a reference to the additional Amazon deal and a link is warranted even if you want to limit discussion away from that particular topic, just so that the information available in the OP truly IS definitive.

Could easily say "There is another deal with Amazon", link to it, then say "but this thread is not for talking about that deal [link to the topic discussing it]; this thread is only for Up+Monsters Inc. and NOTHING else."

I wouldn't know if I didn't check the forum at all during the last 24 hours, and this "definitive" topic was the only one I looked at. And knowing me, if I saw a topic named "Definitive guide to _____", I'm inclined to believe that there is no additional information that is relevant. I'm inclined to trust that all relevant information from other similarly purposed titles would be distilled and condensed and available here. Something which is definitive should be all encompassing, not intentionally exclusive with information.
