no, car gave the movie the name. with bullitt, the movie gave the car the name. big difference.

Possibly they did it because the movie features Ford Mustangs and a groundbreaking chase scene with them and Ford Motor was capatilizing on the movie and its main star McQueen? The movie is about Detective Leutienent Frank Bullitt protecting a witness before trial.

yes, the plot is, but the legacy is not. that's my point. it depends what "about" or "based on" means

To surfdude's credit I did say autoracing or cars based. I shouldve just said racing. Thats why I didnt include Gone in 60 Seconds and it is about cars. Thats my bad for how I labeled the title! Got Em!!

Ok, in that case I went with Talladega Nights. Its the only movie on the list that I care to watch multiple times. Was going to pick The Cannonball Run, its a good movie but dated and not something I care to watch on a semi-regular basis.

Yea I loved that film as a youngin, but I wondered if I watched it now would I feel the same. Ill wait and see if it gets a blu-ray release down the road to find out!

Talladega Nights was pretty good, though. I knew a histotech who lived in Talladega and hated race weekends because of too many drunk, shirtless women who shouldn't go shirtless in the back of pickup trucks around town.
