Default The Best Auto Racing Game

Hi All,

I just picked up the Logitech Driving Force Ex racing wheel. What is the best racing game out there to use this with?

I was thinking of picking up F1 championship racing. Would that be a good choice?

Any and all comments appreciated.

Russ

The Logitech wheels are made for the gran Turismos' specs. (I read that somewhere) I think on Logitech’s website. It works on all racing games though. I bought a wheel the one for $160, it was Boxing Day sale for 120 at Futureshop. But I returned it a few days late as it was too big and messy for my living room and I was already too used to the controller, and the wheel was too big a learning curve. However the first race I entered I won while using the Wheel. It is al lot of fun.(As for my comparison: I have Burnout Paradise, GT5 Prologue, Motor Storm 1&2 and GRID. Rented: Midnight Club LA Horrible game IMO it just felt blocky and UN natural.)

But Burnout Paradise was/is a terrific racing game and won racing game of the year somewhere. Plus there is a new pack coming in February for Burnout that will just add to its appeal, and the pack will be free from what I understand.

Man I forgot about F1, tried the demo a long time ago, I might have to pick that up seeing as Motorstorm 2 was a utter disapointment (well a least the demo was).

MS2 demo is crap. Seriously, nothing like the actual game. Pretty sure that demo hurt more than helped.

I have forever wanted a Logitech steering wheel for Gran Turismo, seeing how impercise the controller is for the job. I always have to constantly twitch the analog stick just to get around a corner. Too badgetting a good quality one is expensive though.

Shouldn't you pick up the game first and then the steering wheel?

Probably, but I saw the wheel first and the price was right, so I grabbed it.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Felt the same way about the demo. I bought the full game and absolutely love it!! IMO, it's everything the original should've been! It's awesome intense racing! Graphically it's gorgeous! Some of the best lighting I've ever seen in a video game. I cannot stress enough to those who did not like the demo, the full game is pure gold!

As far as pure auto racing goes, the best ones are F1, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and Dirt for more serious racing.

If you're wanting a more arcade experience look into Ridge Racer 5, Burnout: Paradise City, and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.

F1: CE would be an excellent choice.

Yup thats a good choice.

Try Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Ferrari Challenge as well.
