I called Panasonic today and they said that their plasmas have a maximum altitude of 8500 ft so I guess it means LCD until I move to a lower place. Now that it is settled how about suggestions on LCD displays. We are still looking for a 52+ inch 1080P for around $2000. The help already received is appreciated but now need more input for a final decision.

In the debate over which is better Sony or Samsung, there is no real difference, I have a Samsung and both my brothers and my best friend have Sonys, I have to say after calibrating all of them they are equal in PQ. Consumer Reports that they both have the same reliability factor %'age. SO really it comes down to which you like better and which gives you the better deal.

OK, for Sony they go in order of Lowest to highest quality in this series S, V, W, Z, XBR7, XBR9, XBR8(LED)

Samsung 360, 460, 550, 650, 750, 6000(led) 7000(led), 8000(led), 8500(backlit LED)

Have fun shopping

Here is a 52" Sony V series and a Free Blu-ray player http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.asp...on=homespecial

Also here are some samsungs you can see a 52" top of the line non-led lcd for $1829, its the B750 model or the 55" B650 LCD for $2199, on both you can have them email you a better price, so you could get the 55" for less then 2K perhaps.

Here they have several Sony LCDs that are between 52" and 55" from about $1499-1769

This XBR9 is 1999.16
