Thanks, Callas.

Patience...that's what I keep telling myself re: the centre speaker. As soon as prices drop a little. Maybe a Boxing day sale?

I haven't cranked the CFs yet; still working them in. What I am having "trouble" with is finding a nice balance with them and the sub. On the receiver, I have switched the CFs to Large, set the crossover at 90Hz and jacked the subwoofer volume up, but the sub seems to have lost the "punch" it once had...knowing full well that the culprit(s) are the CFs.

...thats my way of saying "Damn, I need a new sub". Any recommendations on settings or subs?

Your sub is probably used to handling all frequencies from 115 hz and below because of the HTiB type speakers the Take's are. As what the energy website specs. Therefore your sub was handling a lot of sound between the lower midrange to the low end of 33 hz. Now you have taken the midrange out of its duties and have speakers that can handle 60,70,80 hz and therefore now the sub, which is only 8" has lost a lot of what it does.

Replace the center, then sub, then surrounds.... Unless you find a killer deal on like the ESW-V10 or V8 or S10.3 or another sub that is equally as good Elemental Designs, SVS, Hsu......

Wow, what a difference 24 hours makes.

Thanks for the help.

HiDefRev - (re: SACDs) oh balls. Well, at least it saves me some cash in purchasing those bloody things.
How loud did you turn your surrounds up? dont want to make it to loud or else it will sound unnatural with the surrounds as loud as the fronts.

These fronts compared to what was there before? I didn't have to worry too much.
