Default Bourne 4 might not happen (Greengrass quits)

Paul Greengrass, director of The Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum, has left Bourne 4 over script and budgeting issues.

Universal is upset over the re-shoots and expanding budget of his upcoming film Green Zone. It was supposed to be a small pet project for Greengrass, but it has ballooned to over $150 million dollars. Script issues with Bourne 4 has also upset Greengrass.

Matt Damon has said that he's loyal to Paul and would only return to the series if Greengrass went along with him.

Maybe the director of The Bourne Identity, Doug Liman, could return. I'm sure that Damon would come back for a big enough paycheck. I thought that the ending of Ultimatum wrapped the story up well, but I'm game for another one if the story is worth telling. Green Zone, which also stars Damon, might be the closest thing we get to seeing another Bourne film.

Bourne 4 will happen no matter what. The old $ talks applies.

They'd probably go the James Bond route and just have a different Bourne.

I personally think that's a terrible idea. Damon is Bourne...

A 4th shouldn't happen anyway. This was a great trilogy that was tied up nicely. Good news as far as I'm concerned

jason bourne's real name is not david webb, its matt damon . the way the character has been developed, noone else could feasibly play jason bourne, and their havent really been strong enough minor characters to do a spin off. anything bourne related without damon will die a miserable death in the straight to video market. in fact you could probably call this new movie coming out, bourne 4

Yeah, seeing as the trilogy was very much forgettable, I'd be fine if they toss the idea of a new Bourne film.

They certainly don't need Greengrass to do another Bourne, especially as I think The BOurne Identity is by far the best of the series. The two Greengrass got progressively worse.

I also think if they do another Bourne they need to tread carefully. The storyline has been wrapped up and I am afraid they are going to make another movie just for the sake of making another movie.

Those who say Matt Damon IS Bourne: remebmer, Damon is not the first actor to play Jason Bourne, Richard Chamberlain played in the 80s.

Studios tend to get upset, and so would I, if you set out to make a 50 mil movie and it increases by 100 million when you look away.

No way green zone make 150+ if it's R like I heard it might be.
