Have to go with Spider-Man here. I believe the trilogy and especially the first movie, really captured the essence of the character well. Moreover, Spider-Man has always been the character I could relate to the easiest due to him being an average Joe with average-people problems that just happened to have these powers thrusted upon him.

Another aspect I like so much about the Spidey-movies is that it is wife/girlfriend -friendly. It has action and superhero antics but also other elements like humor, romance and some drama. That's probably why, to this day, it's the only kind of superhero flick my wife enjoyed and even looked forward to seeing the next one each time a new Spidey was announced.

My country version of the blu ray ( x-men ) doesn't even have a DTS master audio track instead of the beautiful lossless track on all 3 movies of spidy.
the only thing i don't like about spiderman is tobey. Sorry but he does not look 16 years old. And spiderman WAS 16 years old.

Both follow similar paths:

First one is pretty good, although mild.
Second is pretty good, but takes it up a notch in violence and awesomeness.
Third fell away from the first 2, wayyyy away.

But IMO, X-Men 3 is still a cool movie, but Spiderman 3 sucked ass.

Difficult decision. X3 is easily the worst film from either franchise. X2 is the best. They all have great presentations, but the X-Men set easily wins for supplements. They both are about equal really. Spider-Man is probably the more consistent trilogy because of the abominable X3. By comparison, I actually enjoyed Spider-Man 3 quite a bit. I would probably go with the Spider-Man set.

As a Spidey fan I think Raimi did a great job on 1 and 2 and due to pressure by the studio to include Venom 3 was a bit of a mess. Apart from MJ's casting I am happy enough with the casting for the other characters.

I don't have either X-Men or Spider-Man on bluray but whenever I see X-Men I stop and think to myself if I should get it or not. That thought never happens when I see Spider-Man. I think Spider-Man 3 ruined it for a lot of people.

If you could get both,it would be a Great Addition to your Collection.

But Both 3-Packs are simply awesome.

Last Friday Amazon had the X-Men Three Pack for $29.99 on one of their Lightning Deals.

And I dont know with the Spider-Man movies, but X-Men 3: The Last Stand has a 6.1 Channel DTS-HD Audio Track.
So if you are running a 7 channel system all of your surrounds will be active with X-Men 3.

And they made good use of the Surrounds on that Movie. You can tell your Back Surrounds are being used while watching the movie. The other two X-Men Movies are 5.1 Channel Audio Tracks. But the Surrounds are still quite active.

But I dont know if any or all of the Spider-Man Movies use a 6 or 7 channel Audio Track.

Personally I think its a Win/Win Situation. No Matter which Set you Buy.
With Either Choice You are Getting a Great Set of Movies.

EXACTLY the same for me. I recently got the urge to see the first 2 films again, but for the longest time, I completely dismissed the Spiderman trilogy as movies that I wanna see. The third one completely turned me off from them, it's a shame. But after thinking about it recently, I'll watch them all again sometime soon.

Spider-man 1 and 2 were great , Xmen 1 was okay , Xmen 2 was great.
TIEBREAKER: Xmen 3 vs Spiderman 3 Both sucked, by a hair Xmen 3 sucked more!
Winner: SPIDERMAN!

X-men got my vote. It is a tough call. The first and second films of each trilogy are great. However, Spidey 3 is much worse than X3 IMO. The scene where Tobey is dancing down the streets in Spidey 3 is just ridiculous. Spidey Trilogy is probably better demo material, but X trilogy looks pretty good too.

Spider-Man= 3 great movies but no special features on 1st 2 movies unless you count Spider-Man 2 with the 2.1
X-Men= 2 great movies and a lame 3rd movie but has lots of extras.
