I've been in LA since I was born and it's not a big deal, you get used to it. Like in LA Story.

I was here for the riots after the Rodney King trial and also for the Northridge quake.

When I was 6 years old, we had an F5 tornado half a mile wide go through Topeka, Kansas. (June 8, 1966). 1/3 of downtown was destroyed. The whole thing was so surreal, driving through the city looking at all the damage.

Here in New England we had one hell of a bad ice storm just last year, we just passed the one-year anniversary of it a couple days ago. That was pretty bad and probably the worst natural event that I've had to go through. We were lucky to be without power for only two days, some people we know in neighboring towns waited two weeks and spent last Christmas without electricity or heat. Lost over half of the trees in our yard, too.

I was just north of San Francisco during the 1989 7.1 Loma Prieta Earthquake.
I was playing a high school soccer game when the field started rolling, and the baseball backstops also started moving. My Uncle was coming up for my birthday which is on Oct.18th and I told him he needed to come up earlier to watch my game.
He says that if I hadn't invited him up earlier to watch my game he would have been in the heart of the freeways in the San Francisco area during the quake.
