I don't care about height so much as, I don't know...comportment. Gibson may be short, but he pulls off the tough guy much better than Leonardo IMO. He (Leonardo) isn't as bad as, say, Orlando Bloom, but IMO he is just much better in the Catch Me if You Can roles than he is in the Gangs of New York roles.

Although I agree with you, whenever Leo stars in a movie, you have to think its a movie that is geared toward a wide range of demographics. There will almost certainly be some kind of love story thrown in with the Viking theme. I just hope its not overdone.

I don't think any Hollywood studio will produce a movie that doesn't have a romantic angle. It appears to be hard-coded in the movie-making formula. I just hope it's not too cliche--He's the invader and she's the prize he must fight for! or He must leave his sweetheart behind...will she be safe?!

On the bright side, this may be one less Scorsese movie ruined by DiCrapio.

I'll skip it, thanks.

It's funny you should say that. I was talking to someone from South Africa a while back, and he said DiCaprio's accent was one of the best he's heard from an American actor and said it was a near flawless accent. I also thought DiCaprio was outstanding in Blood Diamond, and in general over the years DiCaprio has quickly become one of the strongest actors currently working. The dude is a hard working actor, and I cannot wait to see Gibson's spin on a Vikings storyline.

That sucks I have 4 theaters that are reasonably close and one of them is almost strictly limited release type films.

just curious, why do you not like leo, i thinkhe is one of the most tallented actors around. I mean you can even go back to his early career to something like "Whos eating gilbert Grape" where he was just phenomenal

Used to agree completely, but movies like The Departed have turned me around. I fully dig DiCaprio now and actually "buy" him as a tough guy when he commits to it.

Disagree re: Bloom, too. I thought he was tremendous in Kingdom of Heaven.
