Default What's your opinion about the Pixar Short Films Blu-ray?

I thought all of them where going to be in 1080p, only 4 or 5 looked really good. Anyways my favorite was the one man band. The little girl is F'ing funny.

Do you mean the first review by Peter Bracke to receiver 5 stars on High Def Digest? because others have received 5 star reviews on there both HD-DVD and Blu-ray, just not by Peter Bracke

It would've been nice if this cost slightly less givne the content...but otherwise, it's great to have all of these in one place.

As for them not all being in 1080p...well, that's just the limitation of the source. The docu on Pixar is decent too, and that's in 1080p.

Like some others have said most of those shorts are on other releases and I can only imagine with the release of all the Pixar films they'll probably include them all. I didn't pick up that title, but I like Lifted on Ratatouille.

It would be nice if we got "early" shorts for the Pixar-interested archivist--
But as "Luxo Jr." and "Knick Knack" were already shown with the modern movies, there's not much left to archive that isn't already on the pre-owned disks.

And given that "Vol. 1" consists of every short up to Ratatouille, they're obviously looking forward to more shorts from '08-'15. Think we can wait a while for Vol. 2.

I probably have most of them or all of them since I have all there movies. I don't think none of them are bad. I saw Lifted yesterday, and it was hilarious. Alomost wet myself. That has to be there best.

for me, it was understood that the older, earlier works wouldn't be as good as the later ones, video-wise.

I rather liked it... it was about what I was expecting. I'm a huge fan of short films (of all types, serious and light hearted), so this collection was a treat for me.

The commentary on each movie was rather nice as well -- I love the commentary on the Monster's Inc car movie (can't remember the name? Mike's New Car or something like that). It actually made me chuckle and when I showed a family member they got quite a laugh out of it too.

It's a nice one for the collection... can't wait for Volume 2.

THANK YOU! I thought I was going to be the first to say it. This is what I talked about in an earlier thread. What's with all the new posters always starting new threads with a negative?! And you wonder why people accuse you of being a troll... My wife and I had this discussion on the way home from work. She works for a religious organization, and is constantly being contacted by people who 'say' they want to work there, but have a problem with needing to belong to that particular faith. Does that make sense to anyone? No, they're just trying to stir up trouble, get a reaction, or get their agenda brought up through the guise that they want a job. Again, great that they require 14 days of being a member before starting a new thread, but I'm still all for adding a 100 post minimum to it as well.

On a similar note, I love how the majority of the initial responses to these types of threads is always the opposite of what they're looking for...

And for the record, I just looked back at the OPs previous posts, and I don't think he's trolling. That said, I still think that threads that start off like this lack good judgement, to say the least.

If you aren't happy with a title, and are curious about whether or not anyone else shares your sentiment, look for an existing thread about the title (there are plenty already out there for this release), or at the very least, try to make your title neutral (such as 'Looking for some feedback on the Pixar shorts on Blu-ray). Negative thread titles will only get negative responses.

Default Pixar Shorts shipping update

I know a few other's had theirs delayed, so I figured I would update my status.

Each day this week, the estimated arrival date pushed back a day, each day. This morning I checked, and my status changed to 'shipping soon'. Later this morning, I got a notice saying "Sorry for the delay, new expected arrival date would be the 14th, this coming Wednesday. I checked my account again, and sure enough, the dates had changed to next week, with a 'not yet shipping'.

And then I get home from work, and I have a shipping notice that it shipped today afterall.

Weird.

Happy I'm getting it finally though.

I received all three Pixar titles two days ago.

These titles must be flying off the shelves if people are having delay issues .

The pre-order page is up on Amazon
