i hate the UK packaging and was going to just get each season as they came out but i got my income tax check and judging BRs track record of releasing a few seasons and thats it even when they announced ALL seasons i went ahead and jumped on the UK version even though i HATE the packaging of it

Yeah i wanted to get the US version because i think the package looks superior but the way the disc are set up they are prone to getting damaged/scratched so i had to settle with the giant ugly tin but it was alot cheaper :-/
All the seasons have been announced for individual releases in the UK. I would assume US will be right behind them if not at the same time.

I'll be buying the seasons individually.

I really, really dislike the US and UK packaging for the complete set - otherwise it'd be a no-brainer for me to save some $$$ and get them.

exactly my thoughts and with Valentine's Day right around the corner got to save some $ to get Wifey something nice.

Btw my Season One set arrives today thanks to Amz PRIME. Can't wait to watch it for the very first time...

At least, these are my reasons.

I bought the complete series on eBay used for $130 shipped and despite the horrible packaging it was worth every penny. This show is like crack....it sucks you in from the very beginning and doesn't let go. I'm already on season 3 and I can honestly say it's one of my favorite shows I've ever watched. It's up there with The Sopranos, 24, The Shield, Lost, etc.

It'll be really hard not to buy the complete series once I'm all caught up on what I already own, but I personally like having inidvidual seasons rather than a big blocky complete series. Until LOST has one that is

I loved the series but at 65 bucks it's way too expensive I'll wait till it drops around the 35 - 30 margin.

$65 for a single season makes the Complete collection a bargain except for the crappy packaging. Hopefully they'll re-release the complete collection in a more shelf friendly version once all the single seasons are out.

I was hoping I could trade ot the carboard sleves for BD cases, but they will not fit in the box, so I printed out custom covers today and they are now in my collection on the shelf. I would have like to keep it in the box but this is good too. Now I have the box the figure and all the sleves for trade on my trade list.

I don't mind buying the UK version set since I like the packaging better then the U.S. version and I understand it's region free. My concern is the UK version has the PAL format and my question does the UK version playback as well as U.S. version on our players??? Is there anything I need to be concerned about???
Thanks for your time.

The first season for the box set?
The first season is a lot like many other TV shows on blu. I think the BSG season 1 case comes with a cardboard cover over the case, much like Fringe and True Blood.

UK disc are exact copies of US disc, only the disc art change... It's 24hz at 1080p and region free. so it plays in any player around the world.

Well, look at the pics of season 1. In comes in a standard looking sized case. Only options are a case with the ridiculous flippers (ala Dexter, or the slim versions of The X-Files seasons on DVD), or a fold out casing (ala Band of Brothers, True Blood, Rome).

Look on amazon. Isn't that hard to figure out. It certainly isn't gonna be like a jack in the box pop out or anything.

It's the standard Universal Blu cardboard packaging (used for BSG 4.5 and the Office Season 5)...

I want to get it, but the prices right now for Season 1 are silly....I'll be holding off until it's in the $30 range too..

I've got the entire series on DVD, but am waiting to see how these things are going to be released individually. While the US packaging is cheap, the UK packaging is ugly. So I may wait for the individual seasons. But not at this outrageous price. $63 for 13 episodes + the mini? Please...Season 2 of Terminator is $30 for 22 episodes.
