I think you missed the point of the "moaning."

It's the fact that everyone who supported the Blu-ray releases up to date are being told that their loyalty is being punished by excluding content from the season 6 package that will be included in the complete series package. How does that work? I don't withhold from purchasing my TV-on-DVD or TV-on-BD based on the idea that maybe, when the show is done airing, they will release a complete series with content that is only available in that one package. Not many shows have done that in the past and it doesn't make sense to do so in the future.

If anything, the season 6 individual package should contain the extra content which is not available in the complete series collection. Those of us who bought the first 5 seasons individually have probably given them more profit from our purchases than the sale of a complete series package will produce. And that is reasonable cause to voice discontent with this situation.

Well put, and fully agreed.

Just put the disc of "exclusive content" in both the Season 6 set and the complete set.
Of course they will try to offer extras not available elsewhere — otherwise wheres the lure to buy it? That's a common practice that's been in play for years... kind of like re-releasing Star Wars into theatres with extra footage/effects, or Battlestar Galactica getting re-released with new packaging and a few extras not included in the initial release. Not sure how you don't expect this sort of thing to happen, as it has been for years on DVD. But 2 measly hours isn't much extra content, anyway.

I intentionally never bought a Lost season on Blu ray for this very reason (to get the complete set). I'm surprised that I am in the minority.

I did that too, glad it pays off.

I'll definitely pick this one up. I hope it comes in a Dharma themed tin or something.

That was my initial plan but I just couldn't pass the Amazon deal when they're usually sold $60 a season each here in Canada.

But never has a complete set been released this quickly to coincide with the final available season. Usually a studio will wait a period of time before releasing the complete set with bonus content exclusive to it. Disney must think Lost does not have much of a shelf life after the series ends. I feel a little burned for buying the first five seasons now.

I did the same.

I was really hoping for the VHS tape to be included in the collector's edition though.

Granted I don't own a VHS player But I'd buy one just for the Dharma tape.

+1, though I'm hoping its not gonna be some stupid package like the Battlestar Galactica series. They can pack in gimmicky junk for all I care as long as the price is justifiable and we get the actual discs in REGULAR cases.

No, I'm actually with you. I was waiting to see what would happen since it's so close to the series finale. I'm even wondering if the S1-5 discs might drop in price with the box set coming out, and I can get a deal?

I'm really curious about what the complete box set will entail. Will it be really awesome or just 1-6 stuffed in a cardboard box? Regardless, I'll keep Lost S.6 on my DVR for a while. S.5 dropped to $35 season after a month. So wait it out and avoid paying $50 for S.6.

For those of us that have purchased seasons 1 - 5 already and are upset about this news, please go here and voice your concern. The only way they'll know to change is if we let them know how we feel.
