I have a couple steels that have horizontal scratches on them from pulling them in and out of my shelf... You definitely do NOT want them in front of a BD case where the top logo is embossed because it will scratch them...

Poly sleeves are a pain to get on especially if the steelbook has a paper back insert and is sealed. I've ripped so many of them and gave up on covering some of my steels since its impossible sometimes. |

I throw them out, its just a piece of paper with the Movie info on it, no biggie :P. If I were to sell my collection I doubt anyone would not buy a Steel just cus of the paper unless you are OCD of course eheh

I have been using these for awhile now for both dvd and blu-ray steelbooks. There are thicker, more expensive bags out there, but these work great for what I want to do. Before I used them, I noticed scratches would occur from the SteelBooks rubbing on each other (I open mine, so they were "naked" on the shelf). The polybags prevent the rubbing and scratches from happening. I have some extrra bags as well, and if I'm working a trade with someone overseas, I'll ask them if they want a pack of them.
The bags from shop4tech don't fit a blu-ray SteelBook perfectly since they are made for dvd, but I cut the top just above the sticky strip, and the bag will then seal right on top of a blu-ray Steelbook. |

So far I've just been able to get one type. Didn't know there were thicker ones out there. |

I open my steels and watch them...but I do like the idea of keeping them in a plastic bag. I have access to a shrinkwrapping machine so I may just separate the discs from my steels and reshrink the steels to keep them pristine. |
