I very much doubt it. Releasing it with better audio is one thing, remastering the film is completely different. 5th Element looked pathetic prior to it being remastered. While Superman isn't the greatest PQ, it's nowhere near the disgrace that the original Blu version of 5th Element was.

I really doubt it. I'll actually send them an email to see . . . you've piqued my curiosity.

Edit: Email sent. I'll post their response as soon as I get it.

Hell I'll send my original copy back for that in a heartbeat. I always thought it was lacking in PQ anyway (first gen though, it was expected)

I don't think they're doing anything with the transfer. Disappointing. Triple dip, maybe.

Pioneer commissioned a re-authoring with PCM and TrueHD to show off their player.

People just don't seem to get that aside from some compression artifacting from HD DVD's lack of bandwidth, that's how it's supposed to look. He's copying Geoffrey Unsworth's style from the first 2, which has a slightly soft, dreamy feel

That was one of my earlier purchases and I fell asleep watching it. Till this day I still can't stay awake through the whole movie. So no biggy if they don't re-issue

As stated earlier, once the current copies that were pressed run out they will be replaced with the PCM/TrueHD version.

As someone else asked, you can tell which version you have by looking at the back of the box. It says Audio" English TrueHD 5.1, English PCM 5.1, and it has the TrueHD logo on it.

Thanks. This is exactly the information I was asking for. I did not see the picture of the back cover anywhere, as was mentioned by someone else.
