Apocalypse Now took me a few viewings to actualy understand all that was going on. First time I saw it I was 14 and I tought it was going to be a typical war movie from that time and it was anything but.

2001 was another one that confuse me. I was 7 or 8 when I saw it and was expecting a scifi movie and well we all know it's hardly that. I still prefer the book to the movie to this day. I sort of understand what Kubrick was trying to do with the movie but since the book is so clear on what is going on I am a little disapointed in him for trying to make the story into something different where everyone could just think what is happening.

Blade Runner. I really want to enjoy it, but just can't understand it. Already seen it twice. Maybe a third viewing will help sometime down the road.

Just because you had trouble following it, doesnt make it crap. If you understand how the three stories connect, it is a beautiful film.

It's a very simple story actually, and there are tons on members here who rate it very highly.

Give the theatrical version a shot. At the end on the rooftop Harrison Ford's character gives an AWESOME monologue in the narration.

Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2: Innocence

There's so much existentialist psycho babble in it that it makes it impossible to really understand the first go around. It takes really digging into it to truly understand.

"Empire of the Sun". I saw it on a submarine and the general reaction of the crew seemed to be "what was the point of that?" Unless the message of the film was that life sucks, I have a difficult time fathoming why Spielberg made that one.

Not really. More like a great love story, on which you have to pay a little bit of attention to get it.

I love this movie, one on my favorites. I think one can say yes, life sucks when you are a youngster in a foreign country, get separated from your parents and end up in POW camp. This in my opinion on so many levels is one of Spielberg's best. Again each to their own but it perhaps warrants another viewing.

I watched the Final Cut of Blade Runner, maybe the other versions, such as the Theatrical, will give me a better understanding. I'll check out that monologue.

I liked the film, but ultimately I feel very indifferent about it. I do, however, love the scene where lil' Bale looks at the pilots next to the planes in slow mo.
