You have until they start getting your item ready for shipment which is usually a day or 2 before they ship it.

Yeah - I had a similar back and forth but I think I like the new UK packaging better (even though it doesn't come with The Plan). The standard blu-ray cases inside are appealing (see the UK BG thread for good pics) and the overall package looks more appealing to me than this new North America release. I'm gonna pull the trigger on the UK package.

Reading the reviews on the amazon.ca site, is there a packaging problem because it seems they copied the reviews from a different offering of Battlestar.

Is it suppose to have the problems with the disc packaging and not come with a booklet with info on each episode?

I've never seen the show at all but the hype around it seems good enough for a blind buy but I won't buy it if the packaging is crap. What's the difference between the 2? Sorry if this has been brought up, I didn't think it has yet but I don't know much about the set.

yeah i saw them i really wish there was pic of the US/Canada set i have been going back and forth all day and i dont know.i mean i already have a uk set(Bourne) its not really a prob with me.

This has a release date of Apr 6 b/c it is a repackaging of the original release. It also includes BSG: The Plan which wasnt included in the original release. There will be an exchange program for those who would like to switch to the new packaging

It was comparing the new UK set with the image in that link that sold me on the UK package. I really prefer the actual blu-ray cases in the new UK release instead of the digipaks (as the link infers) in the upcoming NA release.

thanks, I saw that on the site but without pictures or description, I wasn't sure what it looked like and I didn't like how the quotes were the same for each packaging because it made me worried the same issues were going to arise. I didn't really want to dig too much since I'm at work but once someone posted those other links, I got a feel for what to expect. Seems that there still won't be a booklet but I guess that's not the end of the world. I might just have to pick it up.

i think what their trying to say is old set has actual bluray cases and new set being release in april has digipacks.. am i right or wrong?

for all those wondering, this show is 100% worth the blind buy. i am torn as to whether to order or not since i already own all seasons on dvd.

you can dump your DVDs on ebay, and set your buy-it-now-price for 2 weeks. Pre-order it at the same time too. So, give you a chance to get rid of your DVD version and 2 week to chill out. If no one buy it after 2 weeks, and you decide not to order the blus, you can always cancel the order anytime before the release day.

just so you know the dvd sets you can get for about $15 a piece at walmart
but the series in blu im sure is worth it i have 4.5 and it looks great.

Judging by the above link, the new ones ARE in digipacks. Is that really so bad? Is it better to pay the extra & import it? I'm torn here and it's a lot of money so I want to be right.

the import is cheeper by $14.well im going to cancel my order and import from the uk.

i know it says 101pounds but it is really 89 when you check out and it only takes a week to get
i live in the us but it might be cheeper to ship to canda for you

It is actually less expensive to import (currently about $138 canadian including currency exchange & shipping...even if customs/taxes is $20 it will be less than $149.99+tax). Either way, even if it was a few bucks more I'd go for the UK import...which is what I'm doing. I really like the package design:
