So just spotted on GeekTyrant the design for the box set and Amazon.com is already listing the Region A discs for pre-order but as usual no sign of anything for Region B in Amazon.co.uk.

Anyone heard anything about when we're getting it here in the UK & are we going to get the same cool packaging design ala the US or some shitty one like they did with the box set of The West Wing & The Wire?

I haven't heard any thing as yet. I loved the tv show though, I just wish it never ended. They should do a spin off show!

Uh, they are already doing a spinoff/prequel: Caprica. It's already appeared on TV (and will continue as a regular series), and the first episode is available for order on amazon as a DVD. It will probably also be a part of the BG complete series Blu-ray box set, and on the Season 4.5 set on DVD and Blu-ray.

So I seen a couple of BSG episodes but don't really know whats going on. Can I start fresh with Caprica? And now Caprica is going to be a series? I thought it was like a one time special.

Oh crikey. They'd better pay to rate ALL the US extras and just re-use the US masters, not skimp and master from the extras-light UK DVD sets.....

Caprica is apparently going to be a proper series starting next year. Judging by the pilot, I don't think you need to be a BSG fan to appreciate it at all, although there are some nods for the fans. The main story seems strong and self-explanatory.

As with all prequels, it might actually be better not to have seen the later events, so you don't know how it's going to turn out. The current trend of making prequels is pretty dumb imho.
