Default first day purchase for me as well

Some of my favorite U2 songs like New Year's Day, Even Better Than the Real Thing, Pride and Bullet the Blue Sky have been staples on all their other tours, but are missing on this one which is a shame. Still a first day purchase for me.
It's tough, the band has so many great songs it would be hard to have a setlist with everyone's favorites. I kinda feel like the way Rolling Stones fans must have felt during the late 80s, a little old. I remember thinking that the The Stones were my parents generation and U2 was what was new & fresh. Now U2's been around for 30 years, and I'm my parents.

But, I saw their show in Dallas at the New Cowboys Stadium and it was awesome.

I just jumped on the BD bandwagon and this will be my first U2 BD. I'm looking forward to seeing what a concert looks & sounds like on BD. I've been a fan since Joshua Tree and haven't missed a show since. If this is up to the band's standards it should be a great.

I completely agree that people will always want different songs and no setlist would have pleased everyone, but compared to all the other dvd releases I have of U2, I'd say this one would be the worst.

Now worst is all relative for a group like U2, but I noticed they didn't even play Pride. I thought that was a standard song, one they play pretty much every night.

Also, they (and anyone else who does it) needs to stop editing the shows. Why can't they release a full concert, with ALL the songs and in the order they were played? What's up with cutting songs out and giving them to us as extras? Huh?

My guess is--and it's a pretty lame one--is that the band would like to keep something special to a live, in-person performance as to a DVD/BD version of the show. I recall the bandemembers all expressing their opinions on making each & very show distinctive and different. It's pretty hard to do when you do 40-60-80-100 shows, but they try. They seemed really earnest when talking about trying to keep a tour intimate and special for their fans. Having the disc-version of the show be even slightly different fits into that philosophy. That's just a guess though. The other guess is that mayne a certain song didn't make the cut due to some recording issue.

Personally, I've love to see a complete and uncut show. Although this is not my favorite setlist, it's still pretty decent. But yeah, what's up with no "Pride"?

Pride was played extesively here in Europe but dropped pretty much in the US. I think the Edge was bored of it. With or wihout you is not the song it used to be and Bono doest often put his all into it either anymore. This show was quite strange, with Bono deceiding to sing quite few of the songs differantly (singing between the beats i.e Vertigo) but it will be nice to have.
My biggest concern is the dreaded lip synch issue that screws up so many discs. Fingers crossed that wont be the case here...

Unforgettable Fire will always be my favorite album, but I think U2 peaked with Achtung Baby!

With all due respect, I don't care what the Edge is bored of or even what Bono may or may not like singing.

REM did this for a long time. They just decided that they wouldn't play almost anything from their early albums. Which are probably the best albums made consecutively in my lifetime.

Stipe even said not long ago that he kind of regretted being so pig-headed about it.

Not everyone gets to see a U2 show live and many others may get to see them once or twice and not again.

No Blu-ray will ever match the feeling I got seeing them at Sundevil stadium, so I'm not sure that's really valid-live is live. Suck it up, bite your tongues, and definitely rotate the songs while on tour, but there are some songs people just expect and they really should play them almost every night. With or Without You, Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Mysterious Ways, One, and Where The Streets Have No Name are a few that come to mind. Certainly they can find a way to keep things fresh when they have another 20 or so songs to choose each night that can be changed up more freely.

Just my opinion, but I think the when you're a U2 or REM, you can live in a bubble and not really think about the average fan who might be seeing them once or only getting to see them on their home theaters.

I agree with Veronica Mars for the most part. I'm being presumptuous by speaking for all fans but I'll say we all want want to hear, WOWY, Pride, WTSHNN, One, Mysterious Ways; I'll even say, Bad, Beautiful Day, Walk On, Angel of Harlem, SYCMIOYO, Miracle Drug, all of which were made to be sung live and a few others.

The problem comes from a setlist of maybe 20-23 songs (on average) and the necessity of playing all their most-loved hits, plus a good amount of songs from their newest album (this time NLOTH) to promote it and then 3-4 wildcard songs to vary the set from night to night. I think it's very likely they may get bored of the setlists deep into the tour, but they do suck it up because they always play WTSHNN, One & Pride (here in the States). I'll admit I'd be a little disappointed if they didn't play Pride so if they didn't play it at your show, I hear ya. I guess what I'm saying is it must be difficult in deciding what NOT to play an any given night.

Yes, I see what your saying. Although I dont agree with it. I saw 4 360 shows and the highlight was "Unknown caller" and bringing back "Ultra violet" was inspired...

Based on the setlist for this blu they played 24 songs. They could have played WOWY, Pride, WTSHNN, One, Mysterious Ways, Walk On, 1 of either Sunday Bloody Sunday or New Years Day, and Beautiful Day, 8 songs to promote the most recent album (which is on the high side), and still had 8 band selections to keep things fresh and play a song like Ultra Violet, which I agree was inspired. It wouldn't have killed them to play Gloria or I Will Follow, but that's been discussed a lot before this release. Guess I'm still bitter they didn't play Pride, huh?

They seemed to mix it up alot more on the Vertigo tour. Yes alot of it was the same each night like this tour but they also seemed to switch it up towards the end of each Vertigo show. The 360 tour seems to be taking fewer chances. Not that I am complaining. I saw the two Toronto shows and they were awesome! I just hope we get some surprises each night!
Really excited for the next leg and Interpol opening some shows is gonna be wicked!
Soooo who's going to what shows?
I will be at:
Lansing
Toronto
Both Montreal shows.

Oh yeah I am also really looking forward to the 360 blu ray!

Yeah, Pride is probably one of my top 5 songs to hear at a concert. I'd be bitter, too. Good news is they're coming back to the U.S. this summer so we may get a few chances to hear it. I've got tickets to Anaheim 1 & 2 and Oakland.

Default great concert

I was at this concert with the other 100k fans and let me say it was one of the best concerts ever! This was the first concerts ever streamed live on Youtube around the world. The Black Eyed Peas open for them and were amazing, with a special guest appearance from Slash from G'N'R and Fergie doing her rendition of Sweet Child O'Mine.
