EA admits putting PS3 on the back burner

They would set up quality control measures before licensing the titles to be published on their platform. Of course, Sony would have to back this up with a decent developer's kit which they seem to have not produced yet either. All reports say the current ones are terrible and developer's have been wingin' it on their own.

I really don't see how people can blame Sony for this. Sony has NEVER had to do this before...not the PS...not the PS2...but they should've for the PS3? I don't get that logic.

I think it would have been nice of them to offer more help to developers earlier on, but ultimately it is not on Sony to code other developers games for the PS3. At this point, Sony is taking the quickiest path back to moving more consoles...holding the developers' hand. This also means developers will be able to max out the PS3 a lot sooner than they were suppose to (a whole lot faster than the PS2).

i heard the elites should have better reliability. check your power source and see if it's anything there causing the problem.

The only hardware diff between Elite and regular Xbox systems is the HDMI port (and not even that anymore)

Whoever has the most systems out there, and then whoever has the best devkit gets priority. Both are Microsoft by a mile right now

The board is different. The Elite is a lot more stable than the 360 Premium. I'd still rather have the PS3 any day.

The point really is that the game should be the same experience on next gen systems. It would be better not to release a game at all if your just gonna half ass it.

Please for the love of god don't screw up NBA Live '08. Hopefully they don't give us a shabby port of that as well...that may be wishful thinking. It looks like I might have to pick up NBA 08 or NBA 2K8 instead.

BTW everyone. Every EA sports will be running at 30 frames. So get used to it or dont buy EA games.

Yeah I agree that the 2k series is a better basketball sim. I liked live since 05, but EA is pissing me off. We'll see which out of the 3 gets the best PS3 ratings then I'll rent them all to compare myself.

I've said it on another post and will say it here - you guys are too wrapped up on the 30 fps/60 fps issue. Yeah - it sucks that PS3 isn't better, but the game PLAYS fine, I enjoy it much more than Madden 07. Also - I've played both versions and you can't tell much, if any of a difference. Enjoy the fact that you get a great game - as good as the 360, plus you can watch a Blu-Ray movie on t after you play your game, while the 360 owner pops in a lame DVD...

I hate to say this, but what EA says actually makes half-sense.

If you are struggling to meet a deadline, pull people off the PS3 to work on the 360 version. This is normal business operation, go where your customers are.

However, delay the PS3 version until it is quality. Don't release a pathetic version that you don't care about.

Although, at least EA is releasing the bad version same day...look how many companies took 2-3 extra months (or more) to release a sucky version of the game.

Most Elites don't even have the new GPU heatsink in them.

The only difference (was) the HDMI port and the larger HD

The Elite IS a board revision beyond the original 360, as shown here, but the same board is being used in all 360s being made at the time

Well, EA is asking PS3 owners to pay the same 60.00 for a game that is LESS than what is on the 360. Personally, I think they should knock a few bucks off the price. I mean why ask us to pay 60.00 for half the frames when 360 owners pay the same 60.00 for twice the frames?

Now back to reality! From what I've been reading, the 30fps issue isn't the only thing plaguing the PS3 version. The game is reported to run at an unstable 30 fps, citing moments of stutter and drops in frame rate. Im also hearing that there is a certain un responsiveness in the controls on the PS3 version. Saying that there is a delay between pressing the x button and the center actually hiking the ball to the quarterback. There just seems to be a severe lack of polish to the game on PS3 compared to the 360. To me, THOSE things are a bigger screw up than the 30 fps issue and personally, I think EA should patch that for PS3 users. If 60 fps simply isn't do-able for the current build on PS3, then the least EA should do is give it as much polish as it can possibly get.

You obviously have played the game. Did you notice any of the glitches that I mentioned?
