Great news! A fine selection for adaptation into the animated medium. Hopefully it looks beautiful on Blu-ray and WB gives us lossless audio.

I would LOVE to see this... actually, there are a lot of Batman stories that I would love to see animated. Here's hoping Year One (can't wait) sells well so they make more.

I'm looking forward to this. Year One is my favorite Batman graphic novel.

However, I wish they'd do another Superman animated movie. I like Batman, but Supes is my fave.

And as for the 70 minute model... PLEASE change that. I know it's more time and money, but it'll pay off in the end. So many of these animated films feel empty because of how quick they are. 5 minutes devoted to DC & WB logos and opening credits and then a long end credits and we're left with >60 min. Come on... be daring. Make it 90 min at least. Try it once on the most popular character. I wonder who that could be?
I don't know if violence is the factor, as they are going pretty darn dark on the next one - Batman : Under the Red Hood. The first segment of the film is taken from Death In the Family, which is pretty dark and bleak.

I do wholeheartedly agree that they need to be a smidge longer, as well. I want them to be like 2.5 hours, haha, but as you said 90 mins at least seems the minimum. Although they do pack a decent amount of extra content on the releases, 75 min is just too short for most of these stories.

I hope they don't fill it with action and make Batman the main character. That would completely ruin Year One; its beauty has always been the fact that the story is told form Gordon's perspective and it's somewhat "realistic" nature.

I hope hope this gets a respectful treatment. I mean "Mask of the Phantasm" type of respectfulness.

Not sure how many people would go for a Gotham movie where Gordon is the main character and not one of the "Bat" people.

I don't believe you, just kidding. Hopefully the previews for this will reflect its different nature compared to other Batman movies and animated features/shows.
