Adventureland has always been around $25-$30 on amazon and in stores, which pisses me off because i'm interested in seeing it (i hate renting, but might have to suck it up for this one since i'm not blind buying for $30).

and from everything i've heard, it was simply advertised wrong. sure, it "looks" like a Superbad type comedy (probably because of who's all in it) but it's more of a drama / comedy than anything else, and that really has me intrigued to see it

You're right. It was advertised horribly wrong. I paid around what it is now on Amazon the day it came out and don't regret it one bit, but I don't blame you for waiting for a sale.

Underrated flick imo. Im still waiting on the price drop too. I liked this better than Superbad as well.

Looks like the blu-ray + dvd is $5 cheaper than blu-ray + digital copy for those of you who didn't want to pay a lot for this movie.

As far as the Superbad vs. Adventureland debate, let me first say I am typically not a fan of "crude" movies. I don't like the American Pie movies and have no interest in movies like Beerfest, Road Trip, etc. However, I thought Superbad was hilarious. I watched Adventureland, and I thought it was an okay movie but kinda boring. I do think part of that is because I thought it was going to be like Superbad going in as some other people have mentioned. If Adventureland ever drops to $10ish, I'd probably buy it for a second look.

Question Digital copy expiry

I don't have either release but I plan to buy it soon and prefer the digital copy. I don't have much use for the DVD.

Can anyone tell me when the digital copy keys expire? I got the Batman (1989) digibook today only to discover that the digital copy expired on March 31. You can't imagine my disappointment!

What about the Blu-ray + DVD combo pack? Isn't that a little cheaper than the Blu-ray + Digital Copy combo pack?

Oops! My bad. It looks like it's only a Blu-ray release. $20.99 on Amazon

I have terrible luck with aging titles like this. As soon as I give in and buy it Amazon will shave it down to 12.99 or something like that.

So I've learned my lesson and I try to wait them out now.

I don't mind paying 20 to 25 bucks for a new release but I take issue with buying older releases at that price point. At 15.99 or less I'm interested.

I'm surprise this title is not $14.99 yet. I guess we can thank Disney for that.

I was fortunate to find it on eBay right after its release for around 20 bucks. It's a really good flick, but it's nothing like Superbad or American Pie. I got more of a Cameron Crowe/John Hughes kind of vibe from the characters. The 80's setting certainly had a lot to do with that.

$20.99?! it's starting to drop in price!
i wonder if they're trying to clear out all these old versions to make way for the new one? hopefully the price keeps dropping!
