Kathy Ireland FTW!

I own REMEMBER THE TITANS, ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, RUDY and JERRY MAGUIRE. They're all good/great movies, all have solid PQ and AQ (although I think an improved transfer of JERRY MAGUIRE will appear in the years ahead).

From what little I've seen, INVINCIBLE looks to have reference level PQ and AQ. But it's about the Philadelphia Eagles, so I have to wait for the price to drop way way low

especially during the field scenes, the cuts were quick and sharp and vary from shaky handheld cam to extreme close ups to slow motion to and odd angles.
an example, starting at :36
It was done in a way to emulate if you were actually on the field and it works, and Stone hit a nice stride with this film, however it takes a little getting used to as it is not filmed or edited conventionally by any stretch of the imagination.

Rudy, any movie that can make a grown man cry after repeated viewings is a great movie.

Does Forrest Gump qualify? He plays football in it.

I'd have to say Invincible--really like that movie, but Any Given Sunday and Remember the Titans very close behind.

Another vote for Friday Night Lights, an incredible movie and excellent disc.

As for the TV show, it will never happen but I pray it does anyway. The best show on American TV (in my opinion).

I know these are opinions but I'm still shocked Rudy hasn't been mentioned enough. It's hands down the greatest football movie ever made regardless of it being non-fiction.

Necessary Roughness needs to be honorably mentioned because its not on blu yet. I went to Southwest Texas State (now Texas State) where it was filmed

It's soccer. It is a terrific movie. A bunch of prisoners of war take on the germans. Pele has some great scenes. There is at least one other professional soccer player, Bobby Moore, some of the other players might be too. I don't see it out in blu but it is a great movie. Pele has one amazing scene with Max von Sydow. Great cast too!

This. I've seen it so many times, and I still turn into a water fountain at a lot of those scenes, especially the jerseys on Levine's desk.
