Here's the problem, if you go neutral, you are simply increasing the odds of exclusivity. You may no longer have an issue because you can play both formats, but you simply prolong the issue. If you were to stay with one format and that format wins out, you will get all the "other" content that you had previously missed.

I foolishly picked up an HD DVD player a few months ago. I haven't bought any movies for it in a while though, and I'm not going to buy ANY new movies for it either. Anything I want on HD DVD will eventually be blu. Wait for it.

exactly. and like one of the posts above says, i too will wait for HD DVD to gain a 90% stranglehold on Blu Ray before jumping ship. anyone who gives in and buys hd dvd is, in essence, giving HD DVD more reason to stay alive. when they should die already...

I adopted HD-DVD in April 2006 and became format-neutral by buying a PS3 last month.

IMO, it was to my benefit to buy in to blu-ray, because i now have access to movies i didn't have with HD-DVD.

But likewise, if i were a blu-ray only user right now, i'd probably buy in to HD-DVD, because the events of the last week (Paramount, cheap Chinese players, Amazon HD-DVD player+ discs deal) make it likely that HD-DVD will be around for a while, as will blu-ray.

There are way too many GOOD movies offered by Blu Ray to even think about hddvd's few movies I may want. Besides the Para move was small and the Amazon deal was also offered for Blu Ray .
Better Dead then RED !
