Default Giving Thanks for Blu-ray

For us U.S.'ers, we can be thankful for Blu-ray for one (and some might think *surprising*) reason: price. I randomly researched four upcoming Blu titles for early next year and compared them to their SD equivalents*:

War:

22.49 SD vs 27.95 Blu

Suburban Girl:

19.99 SD vs 22.95 Blu

Breaker Morant:

13.99 SD vs 19.95 Blu

Resident Evil:

17.99/9.49/17.99 SD (purchased individually) vs 62.95 Blu box set

Some may have complained--and ordinary and/or unaware consumers may shy away--regarding the price of Blu-ray disks not on sale; however, when you look at those comparisons above, considering what you're getting, Blu ain't bad at all.

Without Blu-ray being around, we'd be paying what I consider lousy prices for new releases and getting, well, same ol'. plain ol' DVD's. I, for one, am most thankful for Blu.

I've noticed this. And when Blu becomes the standard, prices will likely be very low. Consider how expensive VHS was originally! ($79. - $89. for a standard release.) Yup, things are looking gooood in BLu-ray.

Don't forget all the $9.99 and $13.99 deals we've been getting. My collection of 50+ Blu-rays cost less per movie than my DVD collection!

enjoy
