2. What is with the attack? The Wolfman was a piss-poor purchase in that thread. I didn't hold anything back. But in comparison to the Wanted Collectors Edition, the Wanted Collectors Edition is still the far superior choice, and in the opening post, Evra is pissing all over it with his description, which does make for a poor advertisement.

I couldn't give two sh*ts as to what happens with that Wolfman steelbook, but the Wanted Collectors Edition is nothing to moan about.
You don't even own the Collectors Edition and you're passing comments about like you do. Yes, I am sure imagining how it'd feel like and giving your two cents after a few pictures will give you an accurate description on how the item is actually like.

More over, I never intended to use this thread as an advertisement for my sale but more for the item which I do think is a poor package. Would you rather me give a dishonest opinion on the item?

Guys...let's calm down a bit.

I think we already discussed it yesterday and should respect everyones opinion.

Disc holder solution is really crap, but again my statement, what you get (for currently $30USD) is a real collectible Edition, given the fact most Steelbooks are more expensive.

I think this LE is fine here.. it is a collectable piece of packaging after all.
I wasn't disputing the fact that the Inception briefcase or Wanted limited edition were not collectables. They both look like mighty fine collectables.
However, I was disputing the criteria for this sub forum and I mentioned one of the reason why I thought it was metal only in my last post. Also, it is pretty easy to come to this conclusion when jw posted the following when he announced the new sub forum:

'Iron pack sub forum added by iceman, I will separate the big thread later tonight but all new IP or metal cases can go in there. Mikelli has a master thread there as well.
This way Iron pack can be fairly discussed just like SteelBook™'

See! A distinction was made.
But, if jw, iceman, or whoever want all collectables here then thats fine too. All I'm saying is to just clarify it, thank you.

I'm also looking for these acryblic blocks and here is my thread about them. These look really nice!

I am really sorry I have no idea. I found it in a local retail store which ships BDs from Amazon US in bulk.

Well, since I ACTUALLY OWN this one, I guess I'll give my 2 cents in greater detail. I disagree completely with you on the packaging. I don't consider it piss poor but rather nice and different from anything else out there. Here are some actual observations of what this set is:
  • The slipbox is made of plexiglass and has a nice heavy feel to it, but it is fragile and will crack if dropped (I've seen damaged ones on shelves)
  • The black case that holds everything together has a felt-cloth like feel to it, and it resembles something like a small handgun case. The inside is also a nice dark red cloth patterned material.
  • the disc holder is a single piece of cardboard with a bullseye pattern on it, much like what you would see at a gun range
  • the hub is made of rubber, sits in the center of the bullseye, and it holds BOTH discs. The digital copy disc is held first, then the feature disc is held just above it. They do not touch. You actually use the hub to lift the cardboard disc holder out of the case
  • the artwork for the discs are unique to this set in that they are bullseye patterns. I have not seen this artwork on any other Wanted release.
  • Yes, it takes a little more work to remove the discs from the hub, but it also takes a bit more work to get the disc out of the case. This is fairly obvious, since the packaging is not your typical amaray. If your main concern is getting the disc out to watch, then stick with the amaray release.
  • Also included is an acyrlic block with a lenticular picture, and there are artcards or postcards included.

Overall, I like this set, and if I had to choose between keeping this one or a SteelBook version, I'd pick this one in a second (and I am a huge SteelBook fan). The disc contents are the same as the standard amaray release (don't know if the amaray still includes a digital copy though), but that is the case many times for other collectible packaged releases. I actually thought the rubber hub was an ingenious use of space, and if there was a way I could use them inside of a Steelbook to house 4 or 5 discs in a standard SteelBook vs. a jumbo one, I'd do it in a heartbeat (like putting two rubber hubs, one on each side, to hold 2 or 3 discs stacked but spaced apart).

So, if you are a big fan of Wanted, then this is a must buy and I'd give it TWO BIG THUMBS UP!

I could not agree more with this assessment. I would pick this set over the Steelbook any day of the week. It is indeed very unique and looks great on the shelf. If I were to add anything to your review, I would point out the bullet in the middle of the plexiglass outer case which is a really nice touch IMO .

Yeah, I could have gone on and on with this one. The bullet is indeed a nice touch. I would have mentioned it, but I figured it is a given since it is fairly visible in the pictures. The plexiglass is not actually cracked either around the bullet, in case anyone is wondering. Oh, and I forgot to mention when I picked this one up from Best Buy, they had a Limited Edition Lithograph they were giving away for purchasing any version of Wanted. I think it is the main character with guns a blazing (I'm at work right now, so I'm writing this from memory), and the lithograph is in a felt like black carded frame. It goes perfectly with this one.

Wow, that lithograph does sound nice...I got my set later down the line so I don't have that ... I did get a pretty good deal on the set though so I guess no complaints
