They constantly cry about the battle with pirates yet they do themselves no favours by pulling stunts like this, especially nintendo, its actually a step back for them

Quick news update, just little details that have come up over the last few days.

Quote:
- 3DS game cards have a slight lip on the upper right-hand corner to help distinguish them from DS carts
- 3DS boxes are slimmer than DS boxes
- use your DSi and DSi LL AC adapter with the 3DS
- bottom screen supports 256x192 pixels resolution
- Miis that you've received appear in the Sleep Mode Mii Plaza area
- Street Pass transfers are handled at the system level
- games can exchange data while your system is in sleep mode even if the game isn't loaded u
- 3DS can conduct Street Pass transfers simultaneously for up to 12 titles
- regulate transfers via the system's parental controls.
- DS games will still require that the game be loaded up for transfers to happen
- home menu can be used in-game to look up things on the internet or jot notes
- sometimes you can't use the home menu, during wireless play or the system's camera

"Nintendo 3DS hardware is available in three versions: Japanese, American and European/Australian. Nintendo has developed different versions of Nintendo 3DS hardware to take into account different languages, age rating requirements and parental control functionality, as well as to ensure compliance with local laws in each region," a Nintendo statement explained.

"Nintendo 3DS also offers network services specifically tailored for each region.

"Additionally we want to ensure the best possible gaming experience for our users, and There is the possibility that Nintendo 3DS software sold in one region will not function properly when running on Nintendo 3DS hardware sold in another."
Worst excuse ever!

Personally, I've never once imported a game. The 3DS being Region Locked has pretty much no effect on me. Seems like nit picking to me.

I'd be more concerned with battery life, but even that isn't enough to keep me from buying the handheld. I tend to play my DS at home near where I could easily plug it in. If away from home or a power source, I can't really see myself at any one place at a time where I'd actually play the 3DS anywhere close to three hours. It's not much of a concern.

The battery life isn't a big problem, I never play outside of the house anyway. Of course region locking isnt going to bother everyone. But when allmost all of their previous handhelds have been region free its almost a step back. Especially when home consoles are now region free, at least the PS3. Is it a deal breaker? Hell no. An inconvenience? Yes. Mainly when releasses are staggard. The US usually gets releases before UK etc. So may not be a problem for them .

Same here Jonathan Ross is presenting the EU event, hes had a 3DS since the weekend and he said the 3D effect is much better than he thought it would be, and considering hes a die hard cinema fan, and critic hes seen his fair share of 3D cinema. So for him to praise the 3D on the 3DS is good to se. He also said on his Twitter that there are a few surprises and possibly a few more old titles to be revealed for 3DS

I'm impatiently awaiting tomorrow's announcements as well. I mostly want to know if I have enough saved up to pay for the 3DS in full when I pre-order it hopefully by Friday this week. Also I want to see a slightly more impressive lineup of launch titles.

Any predictions here? I say it'll release March 20 at $249.99 in North America.

And please oh please let Ocarina of Time be a launch title here as well.

My guess for the UK.

March 25th launch (although some retailers have the 18th for their pre-orders)

£229.99 Recomended Retail Price (would be about right, because we always get ripped off on the $ to £ conversion.)

As for launch games?
I'll say they will have Nintendogs and cats, Ridge Racer, possibly Pro Evo, especially for the european launch. Madden I should think will be a cert especially in the US. Thats your two major sports covered in both EU and US. My Garden from EA? outside chance I say.

Wish list would be for Zelda:OOT but it has a spring release date for Japan but still fingers crossed.

Wow, I hope that's not fake as well. March 1 in Europe would most likely mean a March 6 release in North America.

Is that £179.99 a bundle price? It looks like it on the bottom picture. I can't make it out well enough. Could this mean a $199.99 price tag in the states? That would be amazing.

I tried to get a larger size but thats all they had

March 1st would be great. Its a Tuesday I belive. So I wouldn't be surprised if there was a simultaneous release. Sad thing is theres only 2.5million 3DS for the enire of US and Europe/Australia. 1.5million is going to Japan.

I'm sure going to get my Pre order in ASAP!

You may find this website intresting GGameGears. Its a UK site but they have it for £194.99! and 18th march release I would pre order it because they would have to honor that price but sadly I've never heard of the before, so I'm gunna stick with pre ordering at Game. At least that way I can trade in my DSi XL and finally get rid of Black Ops. Its totally broken on PS3 and I'll be glad to get rid of it, and hopefully that would knock at least £120 off the final price of the 3DS

Nintendo 3DS £229.99 Thats fine by me, but I do have a DSi XL to trade in for it and I sold Black Ops for £46. So it's only gunna cost me about £80! bargin

And the release date gives me 21 days to enjoy Pokemon Black so I think I'm quite pleased with the news. Although I think I'm in the minority :P
