Never saw the point of the Digital Copies. Dont watch my movies that often, and if I do want to see these movies, it will be with BD quality on my LED TV, not some little ipod touch screen.
Only ever downloaded Star Trek - and that was just to see what it would be like; never saw it once all the way through. only ever played it to show naive family members who've never seen a movie on a hand held device before. couldnt care less about seeing it on my laptop either. have Watchmen, Up, Where The Wild Things Are, Kick Ass - infact, most of my collection comes with some daft downloadable copy and DVD I care little about. never bothered to download any of them. in the UK, every maintstream movie is now mainly only available on BD as part of a Triple Pack. bumping the prices up horrendously. I do not care for these extra formats - and just wish there was a second option avaible where the BD is available on its own - but sadly not. for instance - How To Train Your Dragon came out to buy around November time last year. Its only available as part of a "double pack", and its still full price even today!! equivalent to US$29.00. Will be importing the single BD version from the States soon. |

Spoken like someone whose never found themselves stuck with hours of flight delays at various airports. Next time that happens to me I look forward to checking out one of these digital copies on my laptop or iPhone. Well...maybe "look forward" isn't the right phrase, but watching a good movie on a mobile device is definitely better than twiddling my thumbs and waiting for a flight announcement.

I'm pretty sure I tried it a few of months ago when I eventually got around to organizing (i.e. finding) and downloading what DC's I could find in my library. Watchmen (Director's Cut) was one of them and it was expired and it wouldn't let me download the DC. In my experience, WB is the worst with DC expirations. They are very strict with their deadlines. Once you pass them there seem to be no second chances or "one time exceptions." Disney, on the other hand, seems to be very lenient and apparently has extended a bunch of their deadlines. This saved me on a few of the titles I had, but hadn't gotten around to downloading the DC in time. Some of the Disney titles I was able to download were over a year past their expiration date! |

fatediesel, also, were you using a Mac or PC?
I seem to recall reading a post somewhere that for some titles it seemed the DC's were expired on one platform, but still available on another. I think it was The Incredible Hulk where someone said you could still access the DC on a PC but not a Mac. (I use a Mac). |
