I loved Cape Fear. Shutter Island reminded me of it greatly.
Kundun is around on Blu-ray and I found it to be an excellent transfer but it's had mixed reviews. https://forum.blu-ray.com/germany/13...-scorsese.html Amazon sell it http://www.amazon.de/dp/B003CWM63M/ |

Shutter Island is very similar to Scorsese's Cape Fear. both are genre films that bend the genre rules (ala of Scorsese's way of doing so), but i think the divider of the two is how Shutter Island doesn't get caught up in it's style like Cape Fear did. it has an equal amount of substance to match.

I own:
Taxi Driver Raging Bull Goodfellas Casino I am yet to buy New York, New York. I really want them to release all of the others, but I'm sure it will take time. This year is Cape Fear's 20th anniversary so maybe we will see a release. Mean Streets' 40th anniversary is in 2013 so that would be a big anniversary. King of Comedy's 30th is the same year, so we'll see. The other Scorsese film I want is The Last Temptation of Christ (really badly, but I doubt it will ever get released). |

I'm still waiting for more news on "I Hear You Paint Houses", an adaptation of Charles Brandt‘s 2005 novel I heard You Paint Houses
Scorsese and DeNiro were supposed to team up on this one...rumored for years....and I have never heard a word of confirmation on this. DeNiro is rumored to play Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran who is claimed to have killed Jimmy Hoffa. Anyway..if and when this is ever confirmed....I will be one happy individual. |

also, the title of the film is supposed to be 'The Irishman', and star De Niro, Pesci (both actors' first reunion with Scorsese since 1995's Casino), as well as Pacino, who will work with The Master for the first time in his career AND also rumored with Keitel as well, which would be the actor's first time working with Scorsese since 1988's The Last Temptation of Christ. here are two of the most recent news of this, from September and December. |

I guess this squashes the rumors of Dicaprio potentially being in the film. I know it was once rumored that he was in consideration for a part in this as well. Oh well, sounds like an excellent case thus far. |

still though, Scorsese is juggling a TON of projects right now (finishing up Hugo, The Silence, The Irishman, Sinatra, and possibly The Wolf of Wall Street) so really, this isn't any official pre-production of any of his upcoming films yet. there's still potential for DiCaprio to land a part in the film along with the rest of the alumni. we shall see. |
