I don't own a 3D display yet (hopefully upgrade to a 3D projector this year or next), but it still pisses me off that I can't buy films like this *once* on blu-ray... even if I pay a premium, for 3D right out of the gate. I can't stand double dipping for something that could (and should) have been sold to me the first time. Yes, Dreamworks, I'll pay more for your 3D version if that's what it takes, but sell it to me.

They just got around to announcing Transformers 3 and that comes out at the end of this month, so an announcement for this should come soon.

Well I should be expecting to hear a official announcement from paramount confirming the release date, because this site and dvdtalk.com have this slated for 10/11, but videoeta.com has this being released in November which will annoy me, because I was annoyed last year when i had to wait 7 months for Shrek Forever After to come from theaters to blu-ray

Until I see an official announcement, I won't get worked up over anything. It doesn't make much sense to take so long to release this if it doesn't come out until December, but at the same time this will be cheaper if it comes out during the holiday shopping season.

For the most part, Paramount's transfers for new movies are as good as anyone's. Megamind was a rare occurrence. Also, you'll miss what will likely be pretty good animated movie for really no reason, but that's none of my business. I want to see The Muppets too, but I'm not going to boycott a movie I really want to see just because they might be releasing Kung Fu Panda 2 seven months after it was in theaters. Nothing has been confirmed as far as I know, but Paramount has a pretty good track record with DreamWorks animated movies getting a slipcover recently. How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek 4, and the re-release of Kung Fu Panda all got one. Last edited by KilloWertz; 09-17-2011 at 10:17 PM. |
