Umm, I'd say the Panda, the Snow Leopard, the Komodo Dragon, all of the Birds of Paradise, the House Cat Felix Domesticus, the Llama...hmm, can't think of others.

Species kind of remind me of a Tobe Hooper SF flick, Lifeforce. The film was a dud, but it had several nude scenes with Mathilda May. It's not what you may call gratuitous nudity (more like this alien didn't like clothes) -- Mathilda was simply stunning back then, and you'll carry this image for years to come.

Another scene that comes into my mind is the Salma Hayek's table dance in From Dusk Till Dawn. If you saw the movie in theaters and would turn back to face the audience at this precise moment, you'd have seen hundreds of guys with their mouths wide open and drooling -- and their GF generally pissed.

The Natasha Henstridge scenes in Species are more or less in the lame league.

Nudity aside, Species is a nice genre movie with a very nasty alien. Species 2 is nothing special except the ending, which is incredibly gory. Stay away from Species 3 (boring direct-to-video). Haven't seen number four.

I actually rented this one not knowing what to expect. A friend simply told me I must see it. Ok? So I am watching it and....

That movie has more wood than Harry Potter's butt at a broomstick convention.

I would keep it this for these reasons:

1. Michael Madsen is in it.
2. Ben Kingsley is in it.
3. It's actually surprisingly well made.
4. At the time, Natasha Henstridge was probably the hottest woman on the planet and we, the audience, got to see her naked numerous times.

If you're bothered by violence/nudity then pass. If you find the list above intriguing, then keep it. I mean, it was free so why not watch it and then sell it if you don't like it?

Mathilda > Natasha

I liked Species. But if seeing a beautiful naked woman offends you, you should sell it.

Why are you concerned with nudity .. what about the graphic violence?

Natasha Henstridge has a few peep and shows.. but it is nothing graphic or over the top. It is mostly brief to my recollection. Nothing offensive..

Sorry, about that. I don't see the problem with nudity so I don't see the big deal. If you seen the TV version and like it, you're going to like your Blu-ray. I don't beleive the nudity was over done non does it take away from the story, if that's what you're worry about.

I should have kept the THX laserdisc I have the region 2 DVD first edition which I can play in wondrous six-track Dolby stereo digital and its got neat interesting mix for (1995).

I just did search around and didn’t know it was on Bluray region B. £16.99 from play247.com. I can’t bare the PAL speed-up it ruins the sound. Lows are lower at 24fps rate highs as well just down by at least 1Hz rule of thumb.

I guess the bluray will be dtsHDMA and I don’t have issue as the film was exclusively released in dts most films where until prints had Dolby SR-D dts and SDDS6/8 on the conventional 35mm print.

As for the nudity of Natasha running around stack t!t naked wow. Yes I used to get boner but have since calmed down a bit. Thou the bluray might give me that boner again in HD!

Yeah Spices 2 wasn’t that bad even though it got hammered as stinker. I like the part where Eve is polishing her toenails (centre channel) while TV plays on the (right stage front) the tiny little high end as the brush flips makes that tiny little sound.

It’s almost impossible to hear on most common home cinema systems. You need some special gear to hear those details and its so cool hearing those details in Dolby digital mix on DVD region 2.

Also keep your ears pricked up as there’s that squeaky screwy Titanic sound effect used in the lab, now then!

The movie is definitely a guilty pleasure. I've always enjoyed this film and now own it on blu-ray. Bought it for $8. If you think about it, for a low budget horror flick, it has a pretty impressive cast.

Ben Kingsley- Oscar winner
Michael Madsen
Alfred Molina - for those wondering, he played Doc Ock in Spiderman 2.
Forest Whitaker- Oscar winner
The adorable Marg Helgenberger from the tv show "CSI"
Natasha Henstridge
And a very young Michelle Williams of "Dawson Creek" fame.

By no means a great film, but entertaining non-the-less.

Default Titanic Species 2 squeaky effect!

Around the same year Species 2 (1997) chapter 5, 13 minutes 45 seconds has the same squeaky sound effect mostly on the split-surrounds and partly on right front.

I didn’t see this in the cinema unlike the first one that I did. I noticed the sound within flash upon first watching the film on DVD back around (2001).

It pops up again in chapter 14, 35 minuets 26 seconds till 36 minuets 01 seconds. Yeah it’s driving me potty listening to it LOL.

I am hoping for a Species Blu Ray box set someday. I'd really like them all on Blu. I also hope they put the extended cut of Species 1 on Blu Ray, because the only other way to see it was on VHS, they never even released the extended cut on DVD.

I would be glad if they released Species II on BD sometime. I remember seeing this in theathers years ago and kind have been in a mood to watch the 2nd one. Don't own it so it'll be a perfect reason for me to buy it. :-( Pretty sure we aren't getting the rest :-(
