There is a current auction going on Ebay, and bidding is at $102 with just over 4 days left.

I have done numerous searches on Ebay over night and this morning, and that is the only auction thus far. Good luck to those on the hunt.

Given the information about it on this board and others that I have seen, I would be willing to bet that serious bidders know. Talk about this steelbook is spreading like fire.

I stayed up most of the night hoping I would see a BIN auction at a reasonable price. I had planned on buying if I could, and trying to help people here. I even messaged the seller asking if he would take X amount for it. It was a no go. I am afraid the bleeding is going to be heavy on this steel, unless someone has one they will trade, or a noob list one at a low BIN, without realizing the current demand.

The only hope I see right now, is if the production number stated on Comic-Con's page was not the total, but just what was allocated at the event. If it comes out later through verified sources, that the print number is 4,000, people will have a better chance with less financial bleeding.

Lots of interest considering first day on flea bay. Amazing, but I gotta have one from somewhere, so beautiful ...

The first time this steel hit Ebay, was July 22. It sold with BIN prices of $75 each time and $79. This is the 4th auction for this steel.

I can never understand why E3 and CC items sell for such ridiculous amounts online. People must be desperate.

Current questions about the steel...

1) Was production truly limited to 900?

2) How many copies were sold at the Gentle Giants Studios booth at Comic-Con? If not all were sold, what happens to them?

3) Is the artwork for the steelbook exclusive by contract, or is the artwork available for use with potential subsequent steel releases?

If the artwork is not exclusive and is used in subsequent releases, the price will fall back to reasonable levels, in my opinion.

If the production total is actually 4,000, but only 900 was allocated to the event, I don't see prices (overall) staying high.

Currently at $207.50

I wonder how many bidders are from this site, or have looked at this site to find out about the steel? All of the bidders appear to be established Ebay members.

There is ofcourse that other reason which I'm sure you can understand: simple economics :P. If this Steel is ALREADY generating so much money, why not buy it now and sell it for double the amount in the future?

I mean I never regretted buying a certain Steelbook of a movie I don't even like that much for €87.00: the first Amazon.de Steelbook-release of John Rambo
Seems I could trade it for something more of my liking for years to come since it keeps its value still.

That is a possibility. Time and further information will tell. Sealed Rambo?

You were right. Is this auction going to be the exception, or the kind of thing those on the hunt can expect? So glad I pm'ed that seller from the previous auction yesterday.
