It's possible that the U.K. distributor lost the rights to the film. However, there's still plenty of copies in the U.S.

I saw this somewhere for cheap recently, and it wasn't a Giant since we don't have those. I think it was Big Lots for $5. Almost bit, but have the Criterion dvd and it's not a favorite anyway.

Now that Kino have a deal with Disney it's quite plausible that they'll re-issue this title, perhaps with a new transfer and some extras. That's only speculation at this point however.

The Kino rep said their deal includes no movies released on DVD or BD by Disney, but since they were put out by Criteiron and MGM many are speculating Straw Dogs might come out through Kino. I'd kinda rather Criterion get it back for the booklet, but whatever.

Despite the wealth of extras don't buy the UK edition in order to watch the film

Really hope we see Straw Dogs getting a Criterion BD release in the upcoming months. I'd buy that so fast.

Looks like some test covers for Albert Brooks' LOST IN AMERICA. Nice surprise if Criterian releases this!

It's not going OOP, it is OOP, and has been for a while.

No problem. I want it too since I have no idea how I missed it, but I'm holding off a bit since some people are saying either Criterion or Kino might pick this up in the future. I certainly ain't paying the prices they are asking up here!

$10 for the blu is too expensive? The DVD is $20 new. Stupid to go for the DVD when there's much better options available for cheaper.

And just so you know, there's not really any "rumblings" of another release. Nothing has been hinted at or even implied, it's just forum chatter making up speculation. The fact that its OOP means there's certainly a possibility of another release down the road, but that's all it is for now.

There's several new and used copies on Amazon through 3rd party sellers. $10 used plus shipping certainly isn't outrageous.
