Sounds like a major concern, since your paranoia is getting the best of you. Pointless thread.

Dude, you're 25 years old. Have some common sense. If you think it is bootleg, the only way you could confirm is by opening it up and look inside. If it is bootleg you can send it back opened and still get your money back. As a matter of fact they will not accept returns based on your assumption of case being Eco. You gotta open it and see it for yourself before filing for refund.

Although I understand where the OP is coming from, there are things worth complaining about and creating a thread... this is not one of them. As long as the BD is in new condition and the case/artwork doesn't look beat up... it's just not worth the efforts. The seller might have received it as a gift and he had no clue. I've bought stuff from Amazon that looked as if it were resealed. And I've even seen mixtures of shrinkwrap and cellophane wrapping on the same titles in different retailers on the release date. I work in the manufacuring industry and have seen vendors use both types of machines especially on initial roll out when they need to meet an order and their existing cellophane machines can not handle the bandwidth so they use old shrinkwrap machines.

Hard, if not impossible, to tell if it's been resealed.

I noticed Amazon has started re-sealing 'used - like new' items and the shrinkwrap makes it look BRAND NEW - only giveaway is that theres a sticker underneath the shrinkwrap, or the contents inside have fingerprints/used 'scratch off codes' (on games)). The most professional I've seen done, by far.

Others, like Gamestop can be spotted pretty easily.. but studios like Lionsgate tend to use a 'crappy' shrinkwrap that looks like it could have been re-sealed.

With that said, I really don't think it's anything to worry about. Nobody is going to be making a fortune off re-sealing copies of Phantom of the Opera and selling them as new.

If the disc and everything looks fine, just accept it.

If you paid "collectors" prices ($100?) for it and want to keep it sealed, I can understand the concern.. but with the only proof being the eco case, and if you plan to open/watch it anyways, just forget it as long as everything LOOKS brand new inside.

If you're that concerned, contact them and see if they'll take it back (sealed) for a refund, but I'd just deal with it if it was cheap and you plan to open/watch it.

I normally have issues when Gamestop does this with $60 games, but I don't think it's a big deal here.

AGAIN, the concern was that it had been resealed. If it was just for myself I'd open it, and if satisfied, would not care. This is intended as a gift, which is why I don't want to open it, yet I don't want the recepient to open it and see finger prints/scratches etc. I love how I'm told this wasn't worth posting about, yet people continue to reply. If it wasn't worth ME posting about, why respond. I apologize for wasting cyber space...

If you want something that will be presentable as a gift, don't buy from eBay? At least, I never do. I've had too many issues buying things from eBay to ever consider it as a viable source to purchase gifts.

Head to a B&M store, like Best Buy. Sure, you might pay a few dollars more, but at least you can see the condition of the item you're purchasing.

Are you talking about releases you've ordered "brand new" from amazon directly that arrive that way, or items described 'used/like new'? If it's the latter it's from a third party seller and it was them that resealed.

These were Used/Like-new but sold from amazon (Warehouse deals) - I believe these are returned products marked not-defective.

For games at least, they seem to be re-sealing them (the amazon used/like-new label is under the shrink wrap).

I'm pretty sure Warehouse Deals is simply the name of a third party seller that lists through Amazon. I believe I've actually ordered a few things from them here and there. I think they're also 'fulfilled' by amazon, which means their stock is actually held at and dispatched from amazon's warehouse(s). So in their case it's Warehouse Deals that resealed that merchandise.

Amazon has recently changed their listing format in a way that is causing confusion to some people. For example, if an item is OOP and no longer stocked by amazon themselves, it used to be easy to tell because by the main item listing there would be only the "new from..." and "used from" headings for third party listings. Now Amazon seems to list the price of the cheapest 'fulfilled by amazon' seller offering the item new in the main item listing just as Amazon's own price typically is, causing some people to not realize an item is actually coming from a third party if they don't read closely. ...If that makes any sense, heh.

Ok, I remembered a copy of Killzone 2 I'd ordered awhile back came from Warehouse Deals. I went and read their description from the order and apparently they're an "official Amazon subsidiary", so maybe that is a heading Amazon just uses for their own open box/used items after all.

yeah, they're basically amazon's "used" division (someone returns a product, non-defective but opened). I bought a 'Used - Like New' TV from them and it still had the previous person' return slip inside (saying "Ordered by mistake / Did not need" for the reason).

Killzone is one of the others that I got from them - the case was sealed but the scratch-off code inside was already used.

Warehouse Deals is an Amazon brand. Amazon sells returned merchandise, at a discount, through Warehouse Deals. Items range from like new and open box to slightly damaged products.

EDIT: Link to Amazon Warehouse Deals

Nothing that you've previously brought necessarily indicates that the item isn't as advertised.
