Nice! I actually just watched Jaws the Revenge last night just for the hell of it. That movie is hilarious! It's amazing how each sequel just kept getting significantly worse. From the all-time great Part 1 to the bottom of the barrell Part 4, it's got to be the biggest drop in quality ever in a single series.

That said, I do kind of like Part 2. It's nowhere near as good as the classic first one, but it's an enjoyable little "slasher" film in its own right. I'd like to see that one get a blu-ray release as well.

Jaws2 is a great adventure/teen slasher movie! with john williams

Jaws3 is fun( only because i remember seeing and loving it as a kid) even if it doesn't hold up as well as 1&2

I'll hold my excitement until a BD site confirms. This date is the same one mentioned on the Criterion forums from the new member who claimed he had Universal's 2012 release list.

Have to agree with this, folks - calm down. This is NOT official, nor is it new information - this is based on a rumour from an unproven source.
I've also heard that the release date is in the first half of the year. So let's wait and see...

Wait a minute - are you thinking this means they're redoing the original JAWS in 3-D?

JAWS 3-D was a sequel to JAWS - you know that, right?

That's one of the reasons why this information is dubious. No way they'd release JAWS 3-D without also releasing JAWS 2, imo. Of which you'll notice there's no mention.

lol no i didn't know that and yeah i was thinking they were releasing the original jaws in 3d and i was like wtf??... haha my mistake
