Hehe:

"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." (Robert M. Pirsig)

Well, sort of OT.

Back on topic :

The question whether buying anything from Paramount is good ... I don't wanna give 'em my money right now ...

I have disturbia, shooter, MI Box set, and the italian job.

I thought about picking up tomb raider and babel but I dont think that they are worth the money. I havent decided yet whether or not they are good enough for the collection...

I've picked up quite a few off of the Paramount list and there are still a couple I am trying to find before they are gone.

The Warriors and Untouchables are the best lookin transfers i have ever seen with old movies, i mean Warriors is 1979 and it looks better than some transfers from the 90s. My other old movies are Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead 2, Reservoir Dogs, Superman, Superman 2, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Goodfellas. I hate Paramount for leaving but they made some good transfers on Blu-ray. I don't understand why some of these other studios dont spend near as much time cleaning up their old movies.

I have to agree with the Warriors PQ is excellent & top notch for being a movie from 1979. I think it has to be my favorite Blu-Ray besides the Prestige. If people are out there thinking about getting this movie I would get it ASAP.

Yep; I bought the MI boxed set, Sahara, Payback, and a few other titles I don't recall at the moment. I selected the (crappy) remake of the Italian Job as one of my 5 free discs (the original starring Michael Caine was MUCH better).

But that's the last of my money Paramount will see until they start releasing on Blu again.

I also agree with the above post - I don't have Warriors but I love the movie Untouchables and was so glad to see that it got a great transfer unlike some other blu-rays. Paramount honestly only had a handful of movies that they released that interested me and I already owned them by the time they made the announcement.

babel is a definite must have. not only is the pq and aq in my opinion really good but the movie and acting is amazing

currently i have:
Babel
Four Brothers
The Italian Job
Sahara
Shooter (ordered)
Sleepy Hollow

anyone know if i should not even bother opening my shooter when i get in (in case paramount stays hddvd)?

I got about half way through Babel and couldn't take anymore - I think there has been only one other time where I disliked a movie that I didn't finish it.

So I guess you don't like most hollywood stars then.

As to films, I got a couple, but I'm not in a hurry to buy a ton of crap I can live without.

I'm not buying used unless it's in perfect condition and about 40-50% off what I can get it new for. We Were Soldiers is $19.95 new at Amazon. There's no point in my buying a second hand copy for $17 or whatever.

Might be me, but I kept feeling like I was waiting for Babel to start. 21 Grams was interesting. Perhaps that should be a prerequisite for watching Babel.
