It does? I thought the T-rex shark roaring was only in "Jaws: The Revenge"...

its the 1983 Jaws 3 movie.. it was called Jaws 3D back in 1983, this isn't the 1975 Jaws being rereleased in 3D nor is it Jaws 3 coming out in 3D

A 3D BD of Jaws 3?!?! Here's hoping it sells well, so Paramount sees potential in doing the same for Friday The 13th pt. 3-D.

I'll buy it ( me with my 3D glasses on). It will be fun to watch it and remember how bad it was back then, lol.

Nothing on 2 or Revenge yet.
What do you mean? According to this site, 2 comes out on the same day as 1 and 3.

Well, in 3 it's more of a menacing 'growl', where as the full-on T-Rex roar shows up in 4.

I think (or hope ) that when Warner's exec talked about House of Wax and vintage B3D restoration at this year's CES, Universal and Paramount remembered that THEY happened to own two of the only five 3-D movies we synonymously/pop-culturally remember from the 80's*, and hoped to beat their competition to the punch in anticipation of a "new trend".
Let us put faith in competitive greed, and maybe we'll accomplish something good for the format.

(And never mind the growl; as VH-1's comics pointed out , in the climactic "gimmick" scene where the shark breaks the glass, wouldn't a real shark actually, y'know, move its tail back and forth, instead of just drifting toward the glass like a big ol' loaf of bread...How the heck is it propelling itself, anyway? )

-----
* - Starchaser: Legend of Orin and Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, however, are at the bottom of MGM's B-Orion "archive" barrel, and Treasure of the Four Crowns is back with its indie owner. MGM troubles aside, if we DO see Starchaser and Spacehunter eventually return as B3D's, we shall know the Jaws/Wax experiment was successful.

I took a look at the Jaws website that was mentioned. Although it says that they are releasing both Jaws and Jaws 3D on the same date it doesn't say that the Jaws 3D release will actually be in BD3D (Hopefully it is).

Holy hyperbole! How does it ruin the movie when the original is still there, still intact and readily available for you or anyone to see in NON 3D? 3D haters are seriously the worst.

I don't mind 3D when a film is shot in 3D, but when a 2D film is converted it just seems like a marketing gimmick by the studio. Look at the Clash of the Titans remake that was held up while they converted it to 3D.

I can only think of a couple of scenes in the original Jaws that might have a good 3D effect; Quint firing his harpoon gun and when Bruce leaps onto the Orca at the end.

Well, since it's PROBABLY THE 1983 POLARIZED 3-D FILM, guess we won't have to worry about that, then?
(That's just a guess, since the the 2-D version of J3D was always simply "Jaws III" for television and VHS, so it's plausible enough to hope for.)

And at least the color polarized are easier to restore for active shutter than the anaglyph--
The 1983 revival of the 50's House of Wax was released polarized, wasn't it? Been so long, can't recall, except that that was the only good 80's-3D movie at the time, and I'm waiting to see whether Warner makes good on their plans.

According to the Digital Bits its going to be Bluray 3D, meaning its going to be the good 3D, not the red/blue glasses type.
