Personally my favorite Movie ever and finally will be able to own it on Blu Ray

Big news --JAWS has an official blu-ray release date - August 14, 2012. JAWS 3-D will also be released on blu-ray on the same date.

Where is this sourced from? Any news on 2 or 4? I don't think anyone's clamoring for Jaws: The Revenge on Blu, but it seems odd to release 1 and 3, but not 2. And do we know 3 is going to be an actual BD3D?

It's not3 as in the third movie its the original Jaws made into 3D, its sourced from JAWSmovie.com and they are pretty damn reliable as they are close to Speilberg

My friends want to celebrate the release of Jaws with a pool party projector setup and someone's gonna bring one of these ...

I heard about a 3D release a long time ago more for the cinemas rather than 3D blu ray, but to be honest i will buy both anyway, i hope they put the movie The Shark Is Still Working documentry out too that is a long waited documentary i really want!

There's no way they'd do this without Spielberg's approval. And I'm sure there will be a 2D only version, so this release is hardly "ruined".

There will be a 2D option clearly.

I don't really see the problem. The movie has existed forever, the 3D will only be new an optional.

I don't hate 3D,... I think it's fun. Now, granted it's used to make just OK movies watchable and so Jaws is bad "fit" but it just gives something new and after all this time I think that's fine.

Honestly if I had a chance to see a revisionist George Lucas Version with the latest special effects, I would watch that too.

Jaws is always going to be fun but you can never take it too serious.

I like Jaws 2 ... too.

Jaws 3-D is the official name of the third one; in reading the posts at jawsmovie.com I'm pretty sure that's what they're talking about, not a conversion of the first film.

Although Universal is rumored to be considering a 3D remake of Jaws.

Pretty awesome we are finally getting it on Blu. But I would love the 3rd one in Anaglyph as well.

Back when it got announced for home video in the 80's, I picked up some anaglyph 3-D glasses for the it and invited friends over. Man were we disappointed and was I embarrassed

when it turned out that it was just plain old 2D and no 3-D would ever be released. Remember no internet back then. I kinda vowed that one day I would see this sucker in 3-D.

Since Anaglyph on blu-ray is phenominal and fun, it would be awesome to finally see it as it was original seen back in theaters of '83.

It wasn't anaglyph in theatres, it was polarized.

There's some mystery surrounding this. Most believe it's actually JAWS 3 in 3D.

as much as everyone hates the sequels im praying for a boxset of all the films...yes even for jaws 4 -_-

And, yes, it's definitely Jaws 3 in 3-D. The rumoured release date for that and the original is August 14th, 2012. Nothing on 2 or Revenge yet.
