Yes, I can buy it online, but I'm wanting to do it at a brick and mortar if possible. I'm not going to buy random discs I don't like, but I will show local retailers my Blu-ray support if they put the movies I want on the shelf. I seem to encounter this problem a lot and I understand that patience is required, but it's somewhat frustrating that when a title I do want comes out on Blu, I can't show a retailer my support and I end up ordering it online or stumbling across it at a used movie retailer.

Do I really want/need 5 copies of "Are We Done Yet?" on the local Best Buy shelf and 0 copies of "Robocop", "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "Bullitt", "Rio Bravo", etc.?

We all knew The Fly would be delayed anyway, amazon didn't even have a product page let alone a pre-order. I got From Hell, 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later coming today anyway

This is kind of weird. I live in the NYC area. There are:
6 Best Buy
4 Circuit City
2 Target
1 Wal-mart
9 EB Games/GameStop
4 FYE

Not one store has it in stock. Furthermore, Circuit City in my area is charging full retail list at $39.98, and worse FYE is charging over list at $41.00.

Fox home media distribution and/or retail relations really messed up on this title.

Several posters on other sites have reported that The Fly has shipped to them from DVDEmpire.

Ok, it's not just my area then. I wonder if the MovieStop* will have it?

::calling MovieStop::

Nope! The clerk had no clue what I was even talking about. He only got "Reign Over Me" and some other movie I couldn't understand/never heard of.

* - MovieStop is owned by GameStop and is a test store in the southeast market, if you were not aware. They tend to carry some harder to find titles and their prices are *sometimes* acceptable.

Seems a bit odd of the things going on at Amazon right now. Until yesterday, it showed October 9th as the deliver estimate for 28 Days and 28 Weeks Later... Only weeks shipped with Days showing the 11th for ship now. Same order...

Weeks will be arriving today (I love it when things ship from their Lexington warehouse -- I always get overnight with my 2 day shipping when it does).

Default Local Best Buy only carrying 2 new fox releases

I just checked the inventory of my local BBY and it shows that they are only carrying 2 new Fox releases and thats 28 days/weeks later on Blu-Ray everything else is showing up as being delayed. BTW BBY is now carrying The Day After Tomorrow on Blu-Ray in-store & on bestbuy.com

Unhappy What is up with the poor distribution of Fox titles???

Last week no B&M stores had Day After Tomorrow (but I got it from Amazon).

Amazon didn't have Silver Surfer, so I canceled my order and got it at BestBuy.

Are they having problems?

Probably have them in the background. But the fact that they shipped from differents website show that those titles are in the pipeline, just arriving late.
