Exactly.

Even if it is only delayed one week, there's quite a few BDs coming out on 10/23.

They will be lucky to sell a couple thousand copies of that. It is way too expensive and Star Trek has been done to death.

It actually doesn't matter to the business side of things.

All that matters is that it's available for the holiday buying season. That's the time that every will look at, because it accounts for most retailing profits for the year.

So, Oct 16 or November 21 is the same. Actually, later is worse.

We need to hear from someone working at Best Buy or someplace similar to confirm this before getting all worked up. We know the DVD production went fine since it release in Australia already, so that is what I care about most anyways.

Now if this is true and they delay release of the standard DVD because of it, then there will be some problems.

Well someone needs to go to Amazon and post a "review" of the hd-dvd for Transformers giving all this info. After all, hd-dvd fanboys have been trashing BS50s on Amazon.

I don't think star trek will make much of a difference. Mostly because of the price. I hope it is remastered because I bet it will look like sh*t if not.

At least keep it real....don't spread FUD - it makes us all look bad. Keep it to stuff like:

Does it have DTSHD 7.1 sound?
What's the bit rate

Feel free to point out the technical shortcomings but don't just say "it sucks" or "the PQ is bad" if you haven't even seen it. Otherwise all of us blu fans look like liars and FUDsters.

Ahh...

But you forget the cool phaser remote control...

While the remote may not be lethal, it will surly kill any chance of a love life once you bring your date home to show off the system.

But if we do nothing then what?

There is a writing about war and a piece of it went something like this.
....
Then they came for the Jews, and I said nothing.
Finally they came for me and no one was left to speak for me.

Some people might buy the DVD and skip the hd-dvd. And of course there will be the angst suffered by the hd-dvd fanboys.

I still see evidence on other forums it's going to be at least a little late. Review copies aren't expected to be deliver-ed till Friday and a retailer famous for breaking street date (DVDPacific) has stated it's running late !!

If it's only a day,.. that's still good. If it's a week that's priceless!
