It's this kind of attitude that results in classic film posters being disregarded in favour of crap. Also, that hand is freakishly large for a four-year-old.

its not my fault studios agree with people like me instead of tightly wound film critics. take it up with them.

if you think that hand is freakishly large in any way you mentioned it... your trying too hard to prove your point.

lol.

Just to hopefully clear things up:

The poster was created by John Alvin.

From Alvin's wiki:
Quote:
Another of Alvin's most famous cinematic posters was his work for Steven Spielberg's 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.[1] Alvin designed the film's iconic poster showing E.T.'s finger touching the finger of his human friend, Elliott, finger tip to finger tip.[1] The fingers create a glow where they touch. The idea for the poster was reportedly suggested by Spielberg, and was inspired by Michelangelo's painting, The Creation of Adam.[1] The E.T. poster was personally important to Alvin. He used his own daughter, Farah Alvin, as the human hand model for the poster.[1]
Farah Alvin's DOB: September 28, 1976
Age of Farah when ET was In production/released: 5
Baby hand used?: NO

30 years later it looks kind of dumb?... Why not right away?...
And of course you have seen who Elliot is, he's in the movie...

What the heck are talking about? It's like you're on drugs or brainless... or are 4 years old yourself.
Stop making silly comments on original artwork that has been around for decades...

You're like Michael Bay: 28 years later... "Oh no, they should be aliens now!"

I've got it pre-ordered now, I wish I pre-ordered it before the price went up on amazon, hopefully it'll go back down before it gets released.

Oh well, this is one of those movies that I'll watch a bunch of times so it'll be worth whatever price I pay for it.

Maybe they should replace the hand with a walkie-talkie.

Maybe it's an iguana hand, or a deformed kid hand, or a leprechaun hand.

Perhaps the girl's hand could be replaced with a walkie talkie? Would that make everyone happy?
