I am so looking forward to seeing this in HD. I deliberately held off re watching this on DVD so it will feel fresh all over again on bluray.

The price jumped up like $7 since a couple days ago. I locked it in at $23.xx ($24.49) when it was in my gold box a couple days ago, now its $31.48.

Can't wait to get this. It will be a birthday gift I buy for myself. I will hold onto my copy of the 2-disc DVD, even though I didn't enjoy the re-release as much as the original.

What the frick? It's the same cover-art... Even worse with the logos...
Also, I can't see anything else but the mock-up of the front, so what does the DigiBook actually look like?

Was at Universal Studios yesterday with my kids and we rode th ET ride. They have not seen the film (and I havn't seen it since it was in the theater) so I'll pick this up.

I'm holding, waiting to see if there will be a digibook or any other box of goodies. But it's a day one for me once that is clear.

no its not the same.. the background is the forrest. its also missing the big ET finger touching a baby hand. . thats what kills the us/uk covers for me...looks stupid.

as for the logos...im sure most of those are removable..

Baby-hand? Have you séén the movie?... Besides, it's one of the most iconic images in film-history, it's been around on posters and covers forever.
Doesn't bother me anyway. It's not like they Photoshopped it up and Blu'd it up or whatever, like they often do.

And I have my doubts about the logos. I'm just thinking the mockup is not the final artwork though.

yes i have seen the movie.... thats what makes the baby hand even stupider...
personally i think eT and elliot flying on the bike with the moon in the background is more iconic.

I'm sorry, you seem to be from the US, so I take it your English should be fine, but how young áre you?

Again, there is no baby-hand... it's Elliot's hand...
And that image added to the moon-image shouldn't make it worse, they're equally well-known...

That supposed 'baby hand' image was used on the original poster, and it's obviously the hand of a child (Elliot!), not a baby. Your argument is invalid.

sorry but 30 years later...it looks kind of dumb. because i have actually seen who elliot is and its not a 4 year old baby.
still like ET on the bike with the moon background though.
