Knowing Manga UK this will probably have to be pushed back due to errors. They usually do that with big releases

Dude, the films not even out until Monday! And yes mine has been dispatched as of yesterday morning from Play.com and quite a few others have too. Most people are talking about this release in the steelbook thread so you could try there for pics etc come Friday/Saturday.

PS

This has already been pushed back from October

I was being mildly facetious, but then again one delay is rarely enough for them.

Just look at Fullmetal Alchemist film collection: First it was early September, then late December and now it's not coming out before April 2013

Yeah but this films already gone gold and has been dispatched to customers do you really think it's going to be delayed again?

There's still time for an authoring error and a recall

I still haven't seen Ninja Scroll so was quite tempted by this. I've decided to save up for a Wii U instead so will wait for now, hopefully there'll be some copies left in a few months!

I've had the MKVs over a year now and they look great on the big screen. But to finally get them on BD will be awesome! Day before my Birthday too

Can't wait for that Limited Edition of The Children Who Chase Lost Voices either!

Why is there not a dedicated Animé thread for the UK like the US have. Someone want to start one?

They can GTFO, with the Tiger and Bunny volumes.

My days of buying 4 episodes at a time, for a premium price, are long gone.

Wow they're releasing that? And not just on an outdated DVD disc? Awesome! (Though i still hold my ground that Manga is less than trust worthy when it comes to Blu Ray)

Manga will also start releasing Hellsing Ultimate next year, so anyone who hasn't imported could just wait for that.

And a UK anime thread would be great!

Code Geass will be censored slightly so i think i'm sticking with the Bandai DVD's for know. Not that i really care about a one-second cut, but who knows what else BBFC would censor... I'd rather have Funimation pick it up sometime. (Would be better priced too)

Yeah I still hold a grudge against them for pulling out of releaseing series larger than 13-16 episodes. They really kicked a lot of fans in the balls when they quit that after the first couple volumes of FMA:B.

But it's what pushed me to buy a region free player and now I got the 2 complete collections from FUNimation instead of loads of amarays now I just have 2 in nice slips

But I can't blame them if they are being forced to pay too much for the rights. The UK is a tiny market compared to say the US where Anime has much higher sales. So FUNi and the rest can afford to release all those great BD sets.

I belive when the costs start to come down then we could see more series being released.

For now I'll just make do. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what 2013's classic anime steelbook will be?

It seems we're getting an increase in blu-ray releases for the UK, so maybe an anime thread would be a good idea. There's a lot of challenges involved so I'm always wary that something will go wrong with a UK anime BD release, but I'm glad things seem to be improving a bit.

Maybe Ghost in the Shell for 2013's steelbook release? A 1080p24 version of the non 2.0 version would be appreciated. Maybe one of Satoshi Kon's films, like Perfect Blue or Millenium Actress.

I'll take all of them!

(I actually suggested a GITS steel to them on Twitter, said they'd look into it haha)

Yeah, i understand that. Especially after having numerous arguments with them over Twitter about this very subject... I don't like their attitude, that's all.

And after getting a region free player (yay) i just have a hard time going back to them.

Have you heard about Madman Entertainment in Australia? It's basically the Australian equivalent to Manga UK and Funimation! Anyway, they pump out Blu Ray and DVD's left and right, i have no idea how that's possible since i don't think there's a whole lot of anime exposure down there? But they seem to be doing something right and i wish Manga UK could emulate that.

Hell, they even got to release the entirety of FMAB, something which Manga UK utterly failed at
[Show spoiler]
