Wednesdays Ratings were like 1.4 for probably one of the better episodes of the season coming off some very strong episodes the past few weeks. Sadly theres a good chance this is getting axed which will sadden me as the show is pretty good.

I think the show still has a really good shot at being renewed.. Most of the new dramas at ABC bombed (Betrayal, Lucky 7, OUATW), SHIELD is sinking really fast, OUAT and Revenge are way down and only Grey's, Castle and Scandal are the bright spots also the midseason shows don't look that promising maybe only Resurrection can be a real hit.. Nashville have been steady all season and it has good increases on DVR. So I'm not THAT worried, but I can still see ABC axing the show.

Also I hope it helps that Hayden received a GG nomination for best supporting actress...

I really thought Deacon wouldn't show up at his own wedding and WTF was Colt thinking? From what the previews showed next week episode will be far from boring.

I'm fine with it going to CMT, it's a good fit even if I the only time I've watched CMT in the past 20 years was to watch that Melissa Peterman sitcom about 5 years ago lol I just hope the new showrunners can bring the quality back up to how it was in season 1 and 2 because this last season was absolutely terrible and I don't blame ABC for cancelling it when that's what they gave lol

I'm not a country music fan and I have never watched anything on CMT. I was actually unaware of its existence. I had to look it up to find out what the channel was on Directv.

But my wife and I do like the show and we were very disappointed with the ABC cancellation. I was hoping someone would pick it up. So I am very glad to hear it is almost certain to be on this CMT network. I know my wife will be happy when I tell her when she wakes up.

If it wasn't for the huge cliffhanger about Juliette, almost every character had some closure.

Gunnar and Scarlett get back together.
Maddie come back home.
Deacon found peace and is actually happy.
Will make peace with his dad and get back with is boyfriend. (Kevin I believe)
Laila is seen for what she is and Avery leaves her.
Juliette comes clean.

All they had to do is land Juliette's plane and the loop would be close but Nashville is all bout drama. (too much sometimes)
Season 4 was a rollercoaster ride with highs and lows, let's hope CMT actually get Nashville back on track. Let's also hope they drop the 20+ episodes formula, I like my TV shows to be 10-13 episodes, I hate when the season's so long that they have to take a break in the middle.

Yes. there were a remarkable number of plots that seemed to have been resolved. But any of those could see a wrench thrown in and, of course, there will be many new things.

And Juliette's missing plane storyline can't last very long.

I agree about the length of TV seasons. I'd be nearly certain the seasons will be much shorter (and I had just said to my wife I would expect a season of 10-13 episodes). That's mostly just a relic of broadcast network TV. It can make for way too much padding just to get in the "required" number of episodes.

The Brits have long (always?) had the much shorter seasons.

Hell yes! Always thought CMT was a better fit for this show very happy it got renewed and we can get proper closure

Especially since the CMT music awards were announced twice in every commercial break in the 4-5 episodes before the event.

Sure, I've heard of the CMT Awards but I never had any interest in them and never gave a thought to what "CMT" stood for. Also, I watch almost everything already recorded on my DVR and zap over the commercials.

So, season 5 started last night... at the end of the 2nd episode,

[Show spoiler]they show Rayna is being stalked (plus the flowers that she thought were from Deacon weren't). I just hope they don't kill her off since she's was rumored to only be signed on for half a season.

I'm just glad Luke and Layla are gone, especially Layla... they were terrible lol

Blasphemy Layla was hot as hell. This show has become a show for chicks now. I am out!

I'm from Denmark and watch Nashville on Hulu. I'm never exposed to country music unless I actively seek it out

[Show spoiler]I agree though, this was ridiculous. Rayna is pretty much the one character who has stayed consistently good. I liked Gunner and I liked Scarlett, but one wants to get together then they break up and then the other wants to get back together then they break up. It's so annoying, they turned them into such whiny idiots. Juliet is alright but nothing that makes me want to keep watching, Will's barely there and Avery is even less interesting than the two people that left the show. Connie Britton said something along the lines of she'd be in all of them, but apparently that was a lie. I'm going to watch episode 10 since it's the last episode, and maybe they didn't actually kill her off and she's just in a coma or something? But if they do, I'm done and can forget CMT even exists again.
