There are photos from a mostly unused photoshoot for season 2 they could use to make something, but for some reason they want to stick with re-using season one photos. Here are the photos I'm talking about:

Some of those pictures couldn't be used for a cover of course, but they decide to use and photoshop pictures from the first season for each season's promo and cover like you said. Makes no sense, but at the end of the day, that is the farthest thing from my mind when I'm in the middle of watching awesome episode after awesome episode on Blu-ray.

I collect the TV show photoshoots, so to me the cover is almost important as the great Blu-ray PQ & AQ. lol I hate seeing the WB team that work on these releases start doing this with Nikita so soon. Usually it takes at least 5 years before they start re-editing old promos for future seasons cover art. Supernatural started doing it after season 6. The covers for season 7 & 8 are season 6 promos, just heavily edited.

You are right that it sucks that they are doing this for Nikita, and so soon, but I was only pointing out how it doesn't bother me much.

This is the only show that I own that this applies to though, although I don't own Supernatural. Even Chuck, which had it's budget for the show cut over the years, has different photoshoots for the covers.

That's true. I've said the same thing for the recently revealed The Legend of Korra blu-ray.

But considering the underrated exposure this show has, I'd want the best cover so that anyone who casually walks by will have a sudden invested interest.

The first season cover, which I really hate, is sending the wrong vibes to all my friends. People think all the show is is some mindless suggestive action show with no meaning. The show is a little suggestive but it is far from the impression the cover sends.

My Mom gave me the "OOOOOoookkkaayyyy..." look when she seen me pull the first season of Nikita out of it's delivery package. Then she said "Is that porn?"

Lol you should have seen my dad. He has that Asian dad persona and his face was downright angry. He's watched Nikita with us before but after seeing the cover made him stop watching the show for a while. That's how he is, he's very judgmental on first impressions. And God knows how many more are like him out there. You should never judge a book by its cover but I also believe that a cover should signal a safe impression, even if the real meat of the content is controversial.

Heh, when my grandmother saw that cover it made her want to watch the show (I'd already suggested it) and I ended up showing her both seasons.

We should be finding out about a 4th season within the next couple weeks. I'm pretty positive that it will get renewed. Either half a season or full. Hopefully a full season.

It will most likely release a month or so before the new season starts. So if the new season will start in Sept expect an August BD release.

It should be renewed because The CW's only definite shows are Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Arrow. The Carrie Diaries is probably going to be cancelled. Cult, Emily Owens, M.D. and 90210 were cancelled. So Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie and Nikita are left. And I believe all of them have been back and forth between renewal and cancellation at one point. Nikita does have a base even if it's not shown in ratings.

Eonline posted last week that Nikita does well enough on fridays for the CW to get another season. A full season is the only thing that makes sense because with a full season it will have 89 ep under its belt and that puts it in syndication territory and therefor can make deals to networks

Just a reminder people use the SPOILERS tag when talking about spoilers. I've only seen up til episode 3x19 at this point. Plan to watch 3x20 this Thursday and finally the last two episodes next Tuesday (I catch up on demand).

That said as most know, Nikita's been miracously renewed but for a fourth, shortened and final season. Nothing's set yet but chances are we'll get 6 episodes, 10 or 13.

I personally am glad for closure for this series but would love to have 13. I don't mind 6 as long as they treat like an explosive finale. Only thing I'd be mad about is buying the blu-ray for $40+.
