No matter what your format preference this is simply asinine. We should all be respectful of other people's choice.

It is really that simple!

I may re-arrange one or two if they're in the same slot (ie. new releases at futureshop), but never go out of my way to mess things up....

time will take care of that for us: World (ie. not NA) HD-DVD free January 2008, Canada April 2008, USA January 2009.

All you are doing is creating more and more work for the people that have to clean that crap up.
Lighten up. It's only a bit of fun you . . .

I know a guy here, who used to work at Best Buy (we'll call him A-town). He converted his entire department to Blu-ray fans. The only time HDDVD would be on the shelf is if it was open box or merch got one on truck. Meanwhile, BD's would be fully stocked, laser lined and full of BD's in the displays. If you wanted an HDDVD player you had to ask for one, and hope you saw it hiding in top stock. If you didn't see it...he'd probably point to the empty shelf and say...ahh sorry out of stock. Have you heard about Blu-ray?

Maybe this is why HDDVD folks used to think their stuff was selling, maybe alot of stores were doing this....

i forgot to mention, this individual used to also send the toshiba's back to the vendor if they were demo or returned. that way they wouldn't get credit for a sale. No openbox, or clearance HDDVD players were ever there.

uhmmm not sure if that's actually a good idea, people might think Blu-ray isn't selling and HD-DVD is...

^^^^
my bad, I mis-understood, more spaces for Blu-ray the better

since thats based on auto replenishment, i'm guessing your store doesn't sell many hddud players.

Haha I do the same thing. Always put the Blu titles infront of the dud titles.

Is it immature? Yes. But after the 150 million buy off I frankly don't give a damn.

I did some shopping at CC for my Sony S500 a couple days ago.
3 sales associates were trying to sell me on HD-DUD so we got into debate on what format is more superior hehe....I gave them a schooling on BRD facts getting no smiles from them what so ever.
A CC customer then walked up grabbing a Toshiba HDA2 of shelf lol lol..I had the S500 box in hand with the reps still standing around me and then it got really fun.I Let The CC customer know about BRD sales,His choice of Players going BR,Better movie titles and so on.He put the Toshiba HDA2 box back on shelf grabbing a Samsung 1400 thanking me for info.I then let them know about Blu-ray.com,told them to visit site and learn more.
If any of My new CC friends from Va Beach are reading this post..
Welcome to Blu-Ray.com for you are now Blue

I happen to start seeing HD-DVD's and since no one was paying to much attention i started hiding them in the Back of Blu-rays tray so no one would see them or they have to first look at Blu-ray

In Walmart i grabbed about 2 HD-DVD's and told the cashier to hold them for me (cause they hid them under in a box) and never asked for them

I know it was dirty Imma baaad Boyyyy
You do this and call ME a "retarded fanboy?" FYI: I have nothing agianst what you did but it is a more "fanboy" thing to do then what I did.

All I did was complain that Bracke gave Transformers a 5 for it's dolby digital audio when many other Blu-rays and HD DVDs have uncompressed audio. Dolby digital is DVD quality sound and should never deserve a 5. One of the biggest things Blu-ray has over HD DVD is the extra 20 GB on teh dual layer disc. Not having that extra 20 GB is what prevented Transformers from getting an uncompressed audio track, and while I dont think not having room for uncompressed audio is enough to kill the release or HD DVD, it is one area Blu-ray stands out over HD DVD. Not having uncompressed audio on the Transformers disc is a big negative for HD DVD and a "NEUTRAL" review site should reflect the weaknesses and strenghts of each release, not hide it by giving Transformers a 5 for audio because the reviewer prefers HD DVD. This case is less opinion and more fact, since uncompressed audio is pretty common on Hi-Def discs and it is a fact that it is techincally better than dolby digital.

And as for the argument I have heard (although I dont think it was you who said this) that the audio may not have been uncompressed but it was a really good dolby digital audio track so maybe it deserves a 5, what if Blu-ray puts out a movie in 480p (DVD quality), doesnt it then to deserve a 5 because it as a really good transfer for a 480p presentation? of course not, you dont give a Hi-Def disc a 5 for DVD quality sound no matter how good it is.

Sorry about that little rant there, but all I did was complain that a site was bias, i think you will agree that actually going out and hiding HD DVDs is a little more of a fanboy thing to do. But nonetheless, I have nothing agianst what you did with those HD DVDs, in fact, I salute you for it. But I dont appreciate being called a "retarded fanboy."

Man, you guys crack me up

As long as this doesn't become a thread where we're seriously asking every member to go out and mess with the HD-DVDs in their local vidoe stores, I don't really see a problem.

Just read, shake your head, and smile

And oh, don't forget to buy more Blu.

Dude I hate this Bracke guy, everything he rates for Blu-ray just give it a 1/2 - 1 point higher and do the opposite for HD-DVD. He's a f***in' HD-DVD fanboy and he actually defended Paramount for what they did, he also gave Hostel 2 2/5 stars for PQ which 90% of his readers in the forum agreed that was way too low including me.
